From March 9-11, 10% of proceeds at Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Blvd. HNL. HI. will benefit the Aloha United Way Women United Fund. Customers only need to mention " AUW Women United" at the register.

USDA Increases Federal Reimbursement Rate for Hawai‛i's Child Nutrition Programs
Food insecurity is a real problem across the state, especially for the more than one-third of Hawai‛i individuals and families considered “Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) or below. Affording daily school lunches can be a challenge for many parents.
Recent updates to Hawai‛i’s reimbursement rate for school lunches and other federal child nutrition programs will bring a projected $8 million to support healthy meals for keiki.
ALICE Cohort member Hawai‘i Appleseed Center for Law and Economic Justice is among several local organizations who've advocated for increasing the federal reimbursement rate. They're hopeful to see how this funding support will help improve access to and quality of Hawai‛i school meals — ensuring young learners have regular, nutritious food to fuel their school week.

SOCA Yearbook: Giving Class of 2020-2021
The Spirit of Community Awards (SOCA) annually celebrate the companies, government agencies, and individuals who support AUW initiatives and nonprofit partners through workplace giving campaigns.
In 2020 and 2021, amidst unprecedented need and change, over 1,400 organizations worked together to raise funds for our community when help was needed most. Their commitment and dedication made all the difference.
This week, we are excited to release the SOCA Yearbook that commemorates those who answered the call to give during such challenging times.

I can't believe it's not bingo
We hear some great fundraising stories from workplace giving campaign coordinators. We even have a few stories from our own internal giving campaigns. We've been sharing ideas for inspiration, but today we're just here to share some smiles.
The plan was to set-up a bingo game. It was simple. Cards, buttons to cover the numbers, a little competition, and an online bingo card generator. Unfortunately, something went wrong and instead of randomly generating 60 different cards, the program generated 60 of the same cards. To the delight of the crowd and the despair of the organizer, everyone was a winner that day.
No matter what games or events you put together to bring people together and inspire giving, everyone wins.

March on Poverty
The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty was established by the United Nations in 1993. The day is intended to raise awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution, particularly in developing nations. Mahalo to our Safety Net partners and the other nonprofit agencies, as well as the donors and volunteers working in our community to serve those most desperately in need. Aloha Harvest, Gregory House Programs, Hawai‘i Foodbank, Kōkua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, Lanakila Pacific, St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii, Susannah Wesley Community Center, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, and YMCA Honolulu. #poverty #auw #nonprofit #hawaii
