The Last Major Tax Bills Still Alive This Session Would Cut Income And Estate Taxes 04/09/2024

The Legislature weighs tax cuts amid budget constraints, with Governor Green advocating for income tax relief for ALICE families. Proposed changes may strain the state budget. Yesterday's ALICE convening brought together 17 diverse agencies deeply engaged in the ALICE cohort. These agencies, represented by five dedicated huis, convene regularly to collaboratively strategize on supporting ALICE families (households).

In our latest gathering, all agencies in attendance, we explored pressing matters, particularly the ongoing legislative landscape. Our discussions emphasized the critical need to advocate for bills aligned with high-priority issues for ALICE, including tax credits, paid family leave, childcare, and social services.

As we continue to support advocacy efforts, we urge and encourage our community to be involved. Advocacy is still in full swing, stay informed and join the movement by signing up for our advocacy newsletter, where you'll receive updates on our initiative and opportunities to be heard.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND MORALE BOOST

Charitable giving initiatives enable team members to connect over shared values and a common goal—making a positive impact on the local community. Running an Aloha United Way campaign enhances employee engagement and morale by fostering a sense of purpose and unity.

This shared sense of purpose translates into increased job satisfaction and higher morale, creating a more vibrant and motivated workforce. When employees feel that their company actively contributes to the well-being of the community, it enhances their pride in being part of the organization.

ENHANCED CORPORATE IMAGE AND REPUTATION
Participating in Aloha United Way campaigns also contributes to an enhanced corporate image. Companies are viewed as socially responsible contributors, not solely profit-driven entities. Through this alignment, a company showcases its commitment to corporate social responsibility, enhancing its reputation and potentially attracting socially conscious customers, partners, and investors.

TEAM BUILDING AND COLLABORATION
Employees from diverse departments unite to support a shared cause, breaking down silos and fostering inter-departmental relationships. This collaborative spirit extends beyond the campaign, positively influencing day-to-day collaboration on business projects. Bonds formed during charitable initiatives contribute to increased efficiency, creativity, and a more harmonious workplace culture, ultimately supporting the company's overall success.
