One more trip around the sun! 😁 While this has not been the best year, we tried to make the best of it. Wife, son and I working to support each other especially with our whacked schedules! But this coming year looks to be busier than ever before! Itʻs awesome as a family to move together to do all of the things we love to do. We also mahalo all fo the awesome people that we get to interact with. Hula families, radio families, tv families, mommies that used to watch volleyball together families, theatre families....itʻs awesome to have all of the different circles that make up our lives. and thank you FB family!

Youʻve heard the stories of Iolani Sportswear. Grandfather served as part of the 442nd in WWII. ʻIolani would begin in 1953, would continue with son Lloyd and his wife Carla and now with grandson Alx and wife Sarah.

I have had the pleasure of associating with Lloyd and his sons while part of Manoa DNA while in radio and wearing their wonderful designs while emceeing many events across the island of Oʻahu!
First about their aloha shirts. I grew so attached to their fashions over the years. From beautiful aloha shirts to their line that is like “dry-fit” material. SO easy to use. Never wrinkles and dries so easy. Doesnʻt fade. Cool to wear in hot conditions. Crinkle in a ball, throw in your bag, take it out, shake it out and put it on. Iʻve NEVER had shirts that are so easy to use and look so good.
Letʻs also talk about the family. Local Hawaii family that business wise does what they say, helps where they can and understands supporting local. When they said they are going to do a business reset, I was bummed because that meant I wouldnʻt find shirts EASY that fit well and work for any kind of events 24-7. However knowing how they are, I know that it will be made well, and there will be some way to still wear their products.

OMF* #$)*G. What is this?! I know I was headlong into Hawaiian music, but I canʻt believe I never heard this before. I was a big Beach Boys fan back in the day. Loved the harmonies. Loved the sounds of the beach music. So when I heard this done in Country music style (I went thru an 8 month Country music binge in my early teens) I was blown away. Found it was in 1996. The singer is so spot on with her vocals. Canʻt believe I didnʻt hear this one. AND hearing the BBoys harmonies again was just damn chicken skin. For some reason I saw a pretty country singer with Beach Boys?! and I clicked. Iʻve listened and sang with song 7 times now. Played the bass part 4 times. Iʻm smiling tonight. Love finding music like this. I went thru a Beatles phase (NOTHING but Beatles for 6 months). An Eagles phase for 4 months...all before high school. Hawaiian music started in my high school years, but C&K started a lot earlier ;). Sorry just reminiscing
