Have you ever stopped to consider how many benefits of board games there are for children? It is somewhat surprising how a set of simple game board, dice, a deck of cards and tokens can have big effects on the growth of a child. What is more surprising is that, game boards that are designed for entertainment actually help children in their social and educational development!

Did you know up to 60 percent of our brain is made of fat? Fat is very important for proper brain function, but it needs to be the right kind of fat. We need to get enough omega 3-fatty acids because these are the essential building blocks of our brain and they're important for learning and memory.

Your regular routine is really what determines your long-term health. Our body has a remarkable ability to recover from sporadic insults, as long as we’re not habitually poking it with a fork.
Ideally, on a day-to-day basis, we should maximize our intake of fruits, vegetables, legumes (which are beans, split peas, chickpeas, and lentils), whole grains, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, herbs, and spices—basically, real food that grows out of the ground. These are our healthiest choices.

Why care for Self-Care!
How do we take care of ourselves? Taking care of yourself means doing things that will make you feel good, relaxed, pampered and rejuvenated! Different people will have different preferences: doing yoga every morning, spending time in meditation, playing board games with friends, etc. The list is endless and can include anything you can come up with. However, there are two things that need to be addressed right away:
You need to know what fills your bucket. A lot of people are still unsure of the activities that would relax them. They work so hard in all other aspects of their lives that they simply forget to develop hobbies. If this situation applies to you, here is my advice: find a hobby urgently. If you don’t have time to take care of your health, you will have to find time to take care of your illness. How? Make lists of activities that interest you and of things that you liked to do when you were younger. Then try them out. I am confident you will find hidden passions if you allow yourself to do so
You need to take care of yourself in your daily life. Thus, while traveling and going to a concert of your favorite band are fantastic ways to take care of yourself, they don’t happen nearly frequently enough to be sufficient. You need to find simpler things that can fit in your schedule at least a few times in the week (hopefully daily). This can be something like singing to your favorite tunes, doing a quick breathing exercise, cooking something you enjoy, or even going for a walk in nature. My only suggestion is avoiding doing anything with screens - that will not bring you the benefits we’ve just discussed.
With that said, I want to invite you to my upcoming Self-Care event on April 30th from 1-6. The best part of all of this This is a FREE event!
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Always grateful.

Last month I was in need of a different self-care activity so I decided to invite some of my girlfriends for a pampering event: we got together at the top of our beautiful Ridge and enjoyed the sunset while doing yoga. Then we had dinner together and spent the night chatting, laughing and preparing some individualized rolled on essential oils bottles! We liked it so much that we will host these events regularly going forward. You can create your own activities just as easily. Or, if you want to join one of our events in the Ridge, just send me an email. You will be very welcome to join us!
Always grateful.
