What is NRT?
Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) is a precise non-invasive method of analyzing the body & its functions to determine the underlying causes of illness & declining health. These are typically things like immune challenges, metal and chemical toxicities, & food sensitivities. NRT allows us to identify exactly what is preventing the body from healing and functioning optimally and allows us to remove these barriers so that the body can do what it is designed to do... HEAL.
Nutrition Response Testing provides a glimpse into the body's "internal computer", the autonomic nervous system, and shows us where it may be malfunctioning and which organs and systems require additional support. The first step is to remove these barriers/stressors and "put out the fire". The next step is to clean up the mess and damage that is left behind. Then and only then can the healing, repairing and rebuilding process begin.
NRT eliminates the guesswork regarding which supplements someone should be taking. By identifying underlying weaknesses, toxicities and deficiencies, we can design a program that is customized to one's exact body & its specific nutritional needs. By addressing these stressors and feeding the organs organic whole food nutrients, we can start to rebuild and repair these tissues cell by cell essentially building a brand new, younger, stronger, optimized body over time. It's really quite fascinating!

Tips to help you reduce blood sugar spikes:
A huge help in the prevention of a big blood glucose spike is to include a protein, fat and fiber in your meal or snack. To go one step even further is to EAT your protein, fat and fiber (think fiber from green vegetables) BEFORE the carbohydrates in your meals. This will slow the glucose response to help you achieve that gentle and gradual rise and fall of your blood sugar which in turn will help with feeling satiated.
• Avoid naked carbs! Do not eat carbohydrates by themselves(without a protein, fat and fiber). As healthy as it sounds, a banana alone is not a great snack as it spikes your blood sugar! Try adding a tablespoon of clean nut butter to your banana.
• Try 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar diluted in a glass of water just before eating your bigger meals. This will help prevent glucose spikes (and it can also aid in the digestion of your food as a bonus).
• Try to get some sort of movement after eating a carbohydrate-heavy meal or snack. Something as simple as a walk after dinner can help you to burn the glucose off as energy.
• Always opt for whole food carbohydrates (rather than processed or packaged carbs). Low glycemic carbohydrates include berries, carrots, cashews, and beets.
• Ensure adequate hydration. Aim for about ½ of your bodyweight in ounces of filtered, distilled water.
• Aim for 8 hours of sleep, as stress and a lack of sleep can have a huge impact on your blood glucose.
We will be Closed Thursday and Friday, April 20-21. Back open Monday!

What is Nutrition Response Testing?
Nutrition Response Testing is a non–invasive way to test your body and discover what deficiencies or underlying issues are causing your symptoms and health conditions, developed by Dr. Freddie Ulan.
When you give your body the exact nutrients it needs it can heal itself.
The best way to give your body what it needs is to discover what is lacking and help the body get back in balance. This is done with Nutrition Response Testing. We find out what your body needs and create a clinically designed, personal nutrition program based on the testing.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in nutrition, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Thomas Edison.
