Our office new art collection for the waiting room. Our office won this art auction in which the town of Hopkinton had an exhibition and auction. There was 26 custom designed winged feet to celebrate the 100 Boston Marathon start from Hopkinton.

The title to the art piece was “Chasing Dreams” by Carol Abram. Carol description of her painting - “Nature is my favorite place to be, so most of my artworks will be include some elements of water, landscapes or animals. I was excited to take part in this project, and selected dogs as the inspiration for this design. Dogs capture the sense of joy and freedom that comes from running. It takes a great deal of passion and dedication for those runners who choose to chase the dream of running 26.2 miles.”

The auction helps funded the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the 26.2 Foundation. Our office is proud to be part of the Hopkinton community since 2013. It all started in Hopkinton for Cedar Chiropractic & Sports.

Did you know that stretching is the first line of defense against injury and pain. Many patients assume that rehabilitative care for musculoskeletal pain will focus on strengthening—but in fact, stretching is often more effective.

The source of pain stemming from a musculoskeletal source is likely due to:

1. Tendonitis caused by overuse and an imbalance in work and rest
2. Peripheral entrapment in tight muscles or connective tissue
3. Soft tissue tension
4. Neural tension

Here are common stretches to address pain:

1. Standing upper trapezius stretch
2. Standing lower cervical and upper thoracic stretch
3. Doorway pec stretch at 90 degrees abduction
4. Standing thoracic flexion and rotation with Swiss ball
5. Seated piriformis stretches with trunk bend
