Tuesday's Tip: With the holidays coming we all have so much more to do, it's easy to get overwhelmed and stressed. Look over your list and only schedule 3 - 5 of the most important things to do each day and if you accomplish them you can do some of the other things on your list. Have you ever wondered why it's so hard to break a habit? Do you think you can forget how to drive a car, which is a learned habit? We can't "break" habits, we have to create new ones that are more powerful than the old habit. When trying to change an unwanted behavior think about what's triggering it and what you're getting out of that behavior. For instance you might eat when you're stressed. What are you getting out of eating? Maybe comfort and feeling calmer, but does that feeling last? Usually not. Take some time to figure out some new behaviors that will give you the same feeling. Maybe going for a walk, or meditating. What other ideas can you come with? When you plan before for the trigger before it happens you are more likely to succeed!
