Responsibilities Consistency and Reliability Work Quickly and Efficiently Follow Food Safety and Sanitation Procedures Maintain Proper Quality Parameters Use a recipe book for batch, process and portion prep Weigh and measure all ingredients. Set a timer when using the stoves and ovens. Maintain a clean workstation at all times. Perform special cleaning duties as specified by the manager Always use clean food storage containers Assume responsibility for freshness and quality of items prepared. Always date, label and rotate product Checks with supervisor on duty regarding condition of prep done, storage of items and cleanliness of prep area. Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager. Prepare station menu items according to recipe in a timely manner with attention to detail and quality. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 6 months proven prior experience as a cook, grill cook, fry cook, prep cook, line cook, chef, or restaurant crew member, team member or other BOH restaurant jobs High School Diploma Certified Culinary Training is a plus Health Department – Certified Minimum of six months experience working in a high-volume kitchen MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Able to stand for 10 hours Available to work 40 hours a week Able to lift 50 pounds Basic knife skills

We Celebrate George Hermann as he left an indelible mark on Houston, dedicating funds for the city’s first charity hospital and vast municipal park by offering some of our classic staple items on our menu for $1.80 for George’s birthday party from 10am-2pm at Hermann Park!

Hermann worked as if he were struggling and Historian Barrie Bradley chronicled Hermann’s life in “Houston’s Hermann Park: A Century of Community”.

2nd Photo: 1925, Hermann Hospital, now the Cullen Pavilion, stood alone where the Texas Medical Center would rise decades later. The hospital adjoins Hermann Park, which is on property donated to the city by George H. Hermann in 1914.

3rd Photo: In May of 1913 George Henry Hermann gave the city of Houston 278 acres of land for Hermann Park. This oil painting by E.A. Filleau shows Hermann at the desk of Mayor Ben Campbell signing the deed for the park land.

4th Photo: This photo taken in 1914 shows just some of the Houstonians who flocked downtown to mourn for philanthropist George Hermann.

Children 12 and under can ride the Herman Park Railroad for just $1.79 (normally $3.75 per ticket) between 10 am and 2 pm. , and free frozen treats at Gelu Italian Ice.
