⛈️👩‍👧‍👧 After Hurricane Beryl, struggling families are trying to put their lives back together, but they just can’t catch up and manage their usual bills, too. 😔

The lights are mostly back on, but people are still suffering. 🙍🏽‍♀️ They can’t afford to replace food that spoiled in their fridges and freezers. Their homes were damaged, and they don’t know where to turn.

Catholic Charities responds to Hurricane Beryl outages, flooding Hurricane Beryl made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane at about 4 a.m. local time Monday on the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Catholic Charities offices are temporarily closed following the impact of Hurricane Beryl. We are working as quickly as we can to be able to provide disaster relief to families in need. We are committed to long term recovery and here to serve our community.

🌀 After the derecho in May, Jackie’s family lost power for nearly a week and drained their savings staying in a hotel. 😞

👩‍❤️‍👨 Because of you, Jackie and her family were able to pay for two more days in the hotel and purchase food to replace what had spoiled in their fridge during the power outage.

“Had it not been for Catholic Charities, I don’t know how we would’ve paid for another night in the hotel or gotten food,” Jackie said. 🕊️ “It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.”
