βοΈπ©βπ§βπ§ After Hurricane Beryl, struggling families are trying to put their lives back together, but they just canβt catch up and manage their usual bills, too. π
The lights are mostly back on, but people are still suffering. ππ½ββοΈ They canβt afford to replace food that spoiled in their fridges and freezers. Their homes were damaged, and they donβt know where to turn.

Catholic Charities shares in the deep loss of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee. πποΈ
She was a champion of social justice and a determined advocate. There were a number of times when legislation threatened the good work of Catholic Charities. But being a good troublemaker, she was always there for us.π€
The love of her district, her unwavering persuasion, and staunch passion for the disenfranchised, the poor, and the stranger were only a few of the hallmarks of her legacy. It is with immense gratitude to have had her in our corner.ππ
More than a week after Hurricane Beryl ripped through our community, most of us have our power restored. But recovery is just starting - π or starting all over again for struggling families in our community. π¨βπ§βπ§
