Silver Lining is back in stock! Yesterday was Pure Luck day for us; our new driver, Earnesto, went to the farm in Dripping Springs to pick up a fresh batch of their remarkable farmstead goat cheese. Silver Lining is a square of chevre dusted in ash. Bright and smooth, it is one of our favorites. It won best in category this year at ACS and was ranked one of the country's top 15 cheeses. Come grab one and you'll see why!

This week we welcome back Chabrin. A Basque cheese from the French Pyrenees, Chabrin is a goat’s milk tomme with a natural rind. The delicate, sweet flavors in this smooth, semi-firm cheese make it a great pair for a crisp, cool white or rosé. Come by this weekend to give it a try!

National Goat Cheese Month?!? We’re ready! Celebrate with June’s Joy, fresh Texas goat cheese blended with honey, pepper and thyme. From our friends at Pure Luck Dairy in Dripping Springs, June’s Joy is the most requested cheese in our shop!
Alpha Tolman returns! The Cellars at Jasper Hill model this raw milk cheese after Swiss Appenzeller. Aged more than 8 months, the Alpha Tolman we are sampling this weekend is dense with subtle nutty flavors with that underlying savory Alpine-style depth. We’re here today (Saturday) until 4 pm!
Texas cheesemakers cleaned up this week at the American Cheese Society Awards! Congratulations to the Mozzarella Company, Oro Bianco Creamery, River Whey Creamery, Lira Rossa and Pure Luck Farm and Dairy! Pure Luck’s honors included 3rd Place Best in Show - a huge accomplishment in a tough competition with over 1400 cheeses. Congratulations to all and thank you for all the hard work you do to make great cheese!

Sagittarius is back! This sheep and cow’s milk gouda comes from Shooting Star Creamery in California. Slightly nutty and sweet, Sagittarius is everything you want a Gouda to be. Come by this week to taste it!

This week we are celebrating independent American cheesemakers! Come by today to try Pleasant Ridge Reserve, America’s most-awarded cheese. At Uplands Cheese, cheesemaker Andy Hatch makes Pleasant Ridge in the summer months when the cows are out on lush green Wisconsin pasture. Their rich raw milk contributes to the dynamic, fruity, nutty and grassy flavors of this cheese, which is patterned after Alpine classics like Beaufort and Gruyere.

This Father’s Day we are celebrating Reymundo, father of 3 and grandfather of 6! Reymundo has been an essential part of Dairymaids for 12 years. His positive attitude and ability to fix ANYTHING have played a huge role in the growth of our company. We are so grateful for all that he does.

New in! has released a smaller version of their delicious Cottonseed! Based in North Carolina, Boxcarr makes this buttery, nutty soft-ripened square from a blend of goat and cow’s milk. We are featuring it this week in our Father’s Day bag. If your dad is like mine, he wants cheese for his special day.
Sonia is the best! She works for an ophthalmologist during the week, then joins us on Saturdays to work the cheese counter. Sonia has boundless curiosity and is the best person to ask about new restaurants in town. We are so grateful for her cheery presence. Her favorites are Lamb Chopper with Truffle Marconas and the Apremont from France.

KM 39 is a crystalline cow’s milk cheese aged over 18 months. The name refers to the mile marker it’s closest to along the Camino de Santiago, the pilgrimage route that runs through Galicia.
We are featuring KM 39 this week in honor of our dear Mel, who is walking the Camino right now! Good cheesemonger that she is, she diverted to visit Quesos los Cameros in La Rioja. We are cheering you on, Mel!
Happy Mother’s Day to Crispin, our shop mom (and Lindsey’s mom)! Crispin’s many roles at Dairymaids are diverse: wine buyer, bookkeeper, chicken minder….We appreciate all that she does to keep Dairymaids running smoothly and keep us laughing in the process. An ardent cheese fan, she couldn’t pick a favorite, but she knows she wants to celebrate Mother’s Day with the Roses Roses Rosato.
