What a week, what a past few months and what a year thus far! If you live in the Houston metro area you know exactly what I am referring to. Our area has been hit with so many disasters lately that we can't even keep up. Many in the area are still without power from Hurricane Beryl and we are just trying to cope.

What inspires me is Houston, Texas. Houstonians are the most resilient, caring and compassionate people. We help our neighbors, we fight for what is right, we don't stop until we get solutions, and above all things we work together. Through all of the storms I see the sunshine 🌞 in all of the things that we do to help each other. I am proud to be a native Houstonian. Houstonians inspire me every single day. Happy Juneteenth! What a blessing it is to be be able to celebrate another Juneteenth. As a native Houstonian it gives me great pleasure to see the evolution of Juneteenth events. Our family has celebrated Juneteenth for many years even back when not many celebrated. Today I honor the legacy of my Uncle Dwight Monwell Grogan, my beautiful and amazing grandmother Alice Grogan, and my parents Ricky and Sandra Garrett. Juneteenth will always be a special day in our family!

Our city experienced some weather yesterday that caused quite a bit of damage in Houston and the surrounding areas. There was also a loss of life as a result of the storms. Please pray with me for recovery and restoration to all who were affected.

Happy first Sunday! Every day is a new chance, however on first Sunday I feel especially grateful. It always feels like a new beginning. I pray that everyone who reads this message has a new beginning this month is some aspect of their life.

Today as I think about inspiration what comes to mind is how God works through others to give you the message that you need.

I have always loved writing. It's a passion of mine. When I am feeling inspired I get up and type a blog entry (that I never post) and there is something that is cathartic about it. It's a release.

The other day I was sending messages to a wonderful friend of mine that I met on this entrepreneurial journey (Erika) she mentioned to me that I should create a journal with all of my quotes. I thought about it and looked over my motivational quotes and I had hundreds of them! I just posted them because I enjoyed it and did not realize why I was doing it. God was preparing me for his plan. I am now working on my journal and I have started blogging again.

I am thankful for his love for me, and for his guidance. Be on the lookout for the journal and for my blog entries! Thanks to my favorite tea lady for being God's vessel.

Rest in the Lord knowing that he has a plan, the plan is good and everything is working out for your good. When the success comes it always looks like it's overnight. Only you and God know the struggle, the sleepless nights and the pain.
