Don't Miss the Dia De Los Mu***os 2024 Fall Galveston Celebration
Come Enjoy Yourself - Bring Your Friends!
Come on out to this wonderful annual Fall Festival and support the local Businesses, Restaurants, and Vendors who support us. We are able to fund scholarships because of these businesses, and YOU!
The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Council #151 will be hosting a Dia De Los Mu***os Fall Fiesta on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Old County Courthouse on 722 21st Street.
Día de Los Mu***os, or Day of the Dead, is a uniquely Mexican and Latin American festivity traditionally observed annually on November 1st and 2nd. Día de Mu***os is a culmination of pre-Colombian heritage and Catholic influence honoring the souls of the dead in a lively, cheerful celebration (Mecca Houston 2024). This family-friendly event is a celebration of life and death and will feature traditional dishes, the creation of altars to remember the dead.
In conjunction with this event, Ball (aka Avenue H) and Winnie (akak Avenue G) between 20th and 21st Street, as well as 21st Street (aka Moody Ave) between Ball and Winnie will be closed from 8:00 AM until approximately 8:30 PM. To Get Involved with the parade or as a sponsor visit our website here.

🇺🇸 LNESC is proud to celebrate Labor Day! In fact, Labor Day isn’t just another holiday on the calendar — it’s a powerful reminder of the historic strength and innovation of the American workforce.
📝 Did you know that Labor Day traces its origins back to the late 19th century?
This is a time when American workers were fiercely advocating for fair wages, safer working conditions, and reasonable hours. The holiday as we know it today serves as both a tribute to the pioneers of the labor movement and a reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect workers’ rights.
⭐️ We have gathered tips and resources to help you make the most of your Labor Day weekend!

LULAC is suing the state of Texas over redistricting. LULAC alleges that the state of Texas prevents Latinos from electing candidates of choice. Two House Districts LULAC makes this allegation in are HD 129 and HD 144. In order to move forward with the lawsuit, we need to tell the judges that our members live in those districts. LULAC filed a motion to protect the information of our members who live in the affected districts.
The judges granted the motion, so if you share your information, it will not be made public.
We need only one member from each district to move forward with the case. You will not need to testify or do anything else.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Al Maldonado at 832-250-8134.
Yours in LULAC
