What's Your Impact?
We want to give a shout out to our monthly donors. People often wonder if their modest monthly donation really helps, so we want to show you the impact.
If 100 people donated a DOLLAR A DAY then by the end of the year, the total donation would be $36,500. That's enough to give 50 life-saving heartworm treatments to the dogs in our care. We know that so many people had a great time at our Trunk or Treat event last month. With the holidays quickly approaching, we want to let you know the date of our next event. A Home for the Holidays is what we want for all of our adoptables and is the inspiration behind the name of our next event on December 7th, 1 - 3 pm. We will have photos with Santa, adoptions, silent auction, food trucks, vendors, music, & more!

It is that time again to wish Tina Stone a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Tina is a huge advocate for the animals and well known in the area as one of the best trappers. You will find Tina saving the unwanted, abandoned, and neglected 7 days a week. Special Pals loves Tina for all she does and cannot thank her enough. Many of the dogs adopted from Special Pals have been thanks to Tina's love and dedication. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been selected as a 2024 GEICO FastPitch winner and have been awarded $11,000. As we gear up for the spookiest night of the year and head out to weekend Halloween festivities, it's important to ensure that our furry friends stay safe and comfortable. Here are some Halloween pet safety tips to keep in mind...

🐾 Twix is looking for the perfect family! This adorable 10-week-old female pup is looking for her forever home. With her sweet personality and playful spirit, she’s ready to fill your life with joy and love. If you're interested in adopting Twix and giving her the happy home she deserves, come meet her at 3830 Greenhouse Rd.

The moment they came through our doors, we knew that their condition was grave. The tests confirmed our deepest fears: all three had contracted Parvo. Sending them away would mean that they wouldn't make it so our medical staff acted quickly and put the pups in isolation to prevent the virus from spreading further. Every effort, medication, and bit of expertise is being dedicated to stabilizing them and helping them battle this harsh virus.

We wouldn't be able to help the many animals that come through our doors in need without the help of our supporters. Help this become one of our successful saving stories.

This is PJ's 14th Tuesday at the shelter. It's hard to believe that this calm, sweet boy is still here. Perhaps it is because he is heartworm positive. Does that scare people off? It shouldn't because when our dogs are tested at intake and found to be heartworm positive, we treat them for it so that they can begin the healing process while they wait for their forever family to come adopt them.

This is adorable Gopher and Chipmunk. This duo has been in the shelter for 6 weeks and each is waiting for someone to come by and realize THAT IS THE DOG FOR ME. Our games and silent auction was a huge success so we want to shout out to the companies that were a part of that success. Big thanks to H-E-B and Nothing Bundt Cakes for helping to supply the prizes for the cake walk. Silent auction items were donated by PAPPA GYROS, Topgolf Dutch Bros Coffee, Camp Bow Wow, Pet Supplies Plus, Raising Cane's, Home Run Dugout, Petco, Texas Roadhouse, Gringo's "The Original", and PetSmart.

Special Pals has partnered with The Friends of the Phoenix for their fall festival, Barktoberfest. This event will be fun-filled with costumes, food, and adoptable pets! We will be bringing some adoptable pups with us to the event because we don't want you to go home empty handed. Fall in love and adopt a furry friend to take home.
