Originally founded in the 1940s by WC Handy to assist aging musicians pay living and medical expenses. WC Handy's only grandson, Dr. Carlos R.
WC Handy Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to preserving the legacy of WC Handy and passing on the legacy to disadvantaged and disabled children through scholarships and music therapy. Handy, reorganized the nonprofit and refocused the mission statement to focus on our future.
