Texas icon Chuy's has just broken ground in NewQuest Townwest Commons, the fully leased, 250,000-SF neighborhood-essential center in Hutto. This is kickstarting the developer’s vision to increase the retail and restaurant attractions in the fastest-growing suburb in Austin’s northeastern tier.

Placer.ai most recently pegged Townwest Commons‘ foot traffic at 2.3 million visits in the past year. Within a five-mile radius, the population has spiked 40% since 2020, creating a trade area with 128,000 residents who earn an average of $157,000 per year.

“Chuy’s will be the first new full-service restaurant in Hutto in some time. It’s an exciting launch for our plan to expand Townwest Commons,” says Josh Friedlander, leasing director and development partner for the Houston-based commercial real estate firm.

The 5,412-sf restaurant is expected to open in Q1.

The wait is finally over!

The 155,000-SF Costco opened yesterday at 8AM, kicking off NewQuest's final phase of The Grand at Aliana, the 67-acre regional power center in Richmond. As residential growth spiked, NewQuest has continuously expanded the Grand at Aliana, with plans for 665,000-SF of mixed-use space and 350 apartments.

“Costco’s opening speaks to the high household growth of Aliana and Katy, considering the brand has another store less than six miles away,” says Josh Friedlander, senior vice president of Houston-based NewQuest.

“We’re filling Phase III with additional exciting restaurant options and services,” Friedlander says. “Costco is going to bring tremendous traffic and sales volume to the Grand at Aliana.”

Chambers Town Center is now the future home to the first steakhouse in the trade area!
LongHorn Steakhouse has signed a 1.21-acre ground lease for the last pad site fronting Interstate 10 in Chambers Town Center in Texas’ port city of Baytown.

“Longhorn Steakhouse has been looking at this site for a long time because sales are so exceptional for restaurants in our project,” says Bob Conwell.
Bob and Austen Baldridge represented the landlord in the deal.

Exciting news! We're expanding into a new market with a major redevelopment project in Naperville, Illinois.

In their 7th major development, our Asia-Pacific Retail team is planning to start construction in February on a major redevelopment of the 140,892-sf former Dominick’s-anchored shopping center in north Naperville, Illinois.

The team has curated an extensive tenant roster of leading and innovative Asian retailers and restaurateurs. To date, roughly 62,000 sf of leases are in various stages of negotiations, including a commitment from a specialty grocer. Teso Life, a Japanese fashion casual store, has snapped up 18,016 sf in the Naperville project.
