Through the Rice School of Architecture’s Summer Immersion program, local high school students can explore their passion for architecture while soaking in what it’s like to live on campus at a prestigious university.

The program, offered in collaboration with the Rice Office of STEM Engagement, is designed for Houston-based high school students interested in applying to architecture school. The hands-on workshop introduces participants to the principles of architecture and design. Rice University's Office of STEM Engagement and Rice Athletics held multiple weeklong day camps dubbed STEM-Letics. The camps are designed to keep students both mentally and physically active during the summer break.

This summer, one of the groups was treated to a special visit by three-time Rice graduate and NASA astronaut Shannon Walker ’87, who shared her insights about space exploration and the training that went into her time in space. https://bit.ly/3WLMrXf
