Today we want to remind you about our Transportation policy.
Transportation information for all 2024-2025 routes and route maps are available on the YES Prep transportation webpage. Schools will also have paper copies of routes available at their front office.
If you need to make a new stop request or other changes like a new or different emergency contact or phone number, you must reach out to your school from August 14-30 to submit these changes. It will take 7-10 business days to process.
Our Transportation team also worked hand in hand with the Culture team in creating the new Transportation Policy that aligns with the Student Handbook. Please take the time to read over it with your child so they know what to expect when riding a YES Prep bus route.

Choose the right backpack! 🎒
To improve safety measures currently in place, YES Prep Public Schools will require all students to use clear or transparent backpacks.
Small non-transparent bags no larger than 6” x 9” will be allowed for personal items, such as school supplies, cellphones, money and hygiene products.
Students participating in extracurricular activities are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their activity (i.e., athletics, dance, etc.). Upon entry into school, all extracurricular activity bags must be stored in lockers or designated areas.

YES Prep and UHD partner to enhance educational opportunities!
We are excited to announce a new partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) aimed to break down barriers and expand educational opportunities for our YES Prep students.
is YES Prep’s largest matriculation pipeline, with nearly 1,000 students enrolling in the past five years and 204 alumni graduating. The partnership focuses on increasing college awareness, simplifying the admissions process and providing ongoing support through mentorship and specialized programs.

🔊🔊 Sales Tax Holiday is this coming weekend!
August 9 - 11, 2024
Shoppers are encouraged to support Texas businesses while saving money on tax-free purchases of most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) during the annual Tax-Free weekend.
This year’s sales tax holiday begins Friday, Aug. 9, and goes through midnight Sunday, Aug. 11. The sales tax exemption applies only to qualifying items you buy during the sales tax holiday.

Join us at the Mayor’s Back to School Fest Presented by . This event is designed to help Houston-area elementary school students and their families as they prepare to return to school.
In addition to distributing 25,000 backpacks with school supplies, the event will feature on-site health screenings to include: dental screenings and sealants, vision screenings, and routine immunizations. The event also connects families to a wide range of health and social services offered by community agencies.

Annual Student Enrollment forms for returning and new students are now available through Skyward Family Access.
