They did it! 🎓Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating our 2024 Pre-K and Kindergarten graduates in a special ceremony at Impact Church of Christ. We are so proud of everything these kids have accomplished in their time at Small Steps and can’t wait to see their bright futures ahead!

It’s the last day of school! We spent this week celebrating an amazing year with water balloon days, popsicles, bubbles, and more! We are so grateful for a successful 23-24 school year - happy summer! ☀️

Last week, we were excited to host volunteers at both campuses for a reading of Wonder Walkers as part of ! Thank you to all of the readers for helping our students use their imagination and wonder about the world around them!

Last Wednesday we held the 2024 Small Steps Wine Classic! This was a record-breaking year, raising $1 million for our program! We are so grateful to all those who supported this event and made it such a success. A special thank you to our incredible co-chairs, Connally & Mark Burroughs and Robyn & Embry Canterbury!

Small Steps to support our mission! We are so grateful for the many ways that our volunteers step up to

As part of PNC’s Grow Up Great Month, our friends at PNC helped refresh our Gulfton campus garden today! We are so grateful for our partnership, and we cannot wait to see how the garden grows this spring!

Small Steps students celebrated Black History Month with Black Excellence and I Have a Dream themed dress-up days! All throughout the month of February, our classes read books, did activities, and created art projects centered around the history and culture of Black Americans.

On Thursday, we held the 22nd annual Clays Classic! This year's event was a huge success, raising more than $460,000 for Small Steps! Thank you to all those who supported this event, and special thanks to top sponsors AllianceHCM, EnCap Investments L.P., Claire & David de Roode, and Ryan LLC!

Last week, our students celebrated 100 days of school! We are so grateful for 100 days of learning and growing!

Small Steps is growing! Our Fifth Ward campus is expanding to serve even more students next school year, and this would not be possible without the generosity of many. Some of the project's major donors were able to see the project in person at this week's groundbreaking celebration, including The Hamill Foundation and Maestro Cares Foundation (). Small Steps celebrated the groundbreaking for our Fifth Ward expansion with a small group of the project’s top donors. After years of planning with our Board of Directors and the significant investment of generous donors in the Houston community and beyond, we are thrilled for construction to begin. We want to express a special thank you to the project’s two top donors: Hamill Foundation and Maestro Cares Foundation!

Yesterday, we were thrilled to have volunteers from and come out and serve as mystery readers for our Gulfton students in celebration of Black History Month. It was special to celebrate Black history through reading books like Mae Among the Stars and The Youngest Marcher!

On Tuesday, we held the 7th annual Two Step for Small Steps! Our incredible Young Professionals Board organized this event, led by co-chairs Paige Ebanks and Maria Stavinoha. This year, we raised more than $145,000 in support of Small Steps students and families!

Prospective - Small Steps Nurturing Center In addition to their education, Small Steps students receive two nutritious meals plus one snack each day, social-emotional support, safe space for outdoor play, and a nurturing Christian environment.

The Christmas season is a busy one at Small Steps, and it wouldn’t be possible without the commitment and generosity of our community of donors. We are so thankful for everyone that showered our students and families with holiday blessings this year!
