You don't wash your dark laundry in hot water for fear that the dye will run and your clothes will fade. So think of your toner the exact same way. Hot water opens the hair cuticle, making way for your toner to "run" just like the dye in your fabrics. Washing your hair with cool water keeps the cuticle closed, prevents fading, and maintains shine. It might seem like a hard habit to change, but your hair and toner will thank you.

Sorry to break it to you but it’s true!! Toners are not permanent & gradually fade out of the hair over time. Here are a few things I recommend to help hair from fading to yellow & brassy tones:
1. Schedule maintenance toning appointments in between Blonding services.
2. Purple shampoo can be a blondes best friend if used the right way! I don’t recommend just any purple or blue shampoo. Ask your stylist which brand of purple will work best for your hair. I like to use the Goldwell Blondes & Hilights Anti-Yellow Shampoo & Conditioner 💜
3. Using a water filter on your shower can help prevent hard water build up. It will help prevent unwanted minerals & chemicals from wreaking havoc on your hair. Hard water can fade toner out even quicker than it normally should! Vintage Park Salon Boutique

Ever wonder why your hair seems to take on a darker hue when it's wet? 💧🤔 It's not just your imagination! When your hair is wet, the water fills the gaps between the hair fibers, causing them to stick together and become less reflective. This clumping effect makes your hair appear darker than its actual color. So, that temporary darker shade you see while your hair is wet is just a trick of the light. Once your hair dries, it'll go back to its usual color and texture so don’t panic when it’s still wet and it looks darker 💁🏼‍♀️
