The Derecho took down our previous play set but thanks to the Hernandez Family and this awesome donation, SORA kids are back in the play business! Our S0RA members truly are one of a kind and represent community!

Good News! SORA will be open and back in business on Wednesday, July 31.

Thank you to City Council Member Amy Peck for helping us get mitigation measures in place at the tree debris collection site across the street. Construction screens were installed on the fencing and the grinder was moved to the south side(away from the pool) of the site to minimize the dust coming into the pool and pool equipment. Thank you thank you!

As of this morning, the grinder has not been moved to the other side of the site as promised to minimize the amount of dust coming into SORA. We are struggling to keep SORA operable and safe for the community. Thank you for continuing to advocate for us!

City Council Member Amy Peck. We are in desperate need of assistance at Shadow Oaks Recreation Association. The tree debris collection across the street from the pool is destroying our pool equipment and significantly affecting the air quality for our members in neighbors. The pool is cleaned every morning but it’s a losing battle with the debris. Our pool pumps are strained and we are losing a significant amount of water each day. SORA is a volunteer run organization that is not supported by a neighborhood HOA. Please help us save this neighborhood hangout!

Pool looks pretty good! A little cold!

The pool is open! It is green and chlorine is high, but safe. No guards this weekend. Swim at your own risk. Those with sensitive skin please wait till tomorrow to swim.

Update: power is on, pool pumps have been repaired. Some debris remains on the grounds. Working on getting chlorine up to safe levels.
