Springfield Jr Model 50
Springfield Jr Model 50 I was asked to fix up this old Springfield Jr. Model 50 .22 caliber rifle. The owner inherited it from a dear friend he lost a few years ago, and it was an honor getting the rifle back in good shap…

Stevens Youth Model 11 Falling Block .22
Stevens Youth Model 11 Falling Block .22 My Uncle called me about this one, asking if I could do anything about this old Stevens Youth Model 11 rifle. This model is very similar in design to the Stevens Model 14 1/2 Little Scout, which I …
I picked this New Haven 600CT 20 Gauge pump action shotgun up for a really great price. I was looking for a different slug shotgun for deer season, and this seems to be perfect for what I wanted. The New Haven is a rebranded Mossberg 500, produced for Montgomery Ward from O.F. Mossberg & Sons. The only difference between the 600CT and a 500, is there are no tapped screw holes for fixing an optic on top of the receiver. Other than that, there isn't a lick of difference between the two.
The shotgun was pretty beat up when I got it, so I stripped the stock and barrel. I noticed that on the tang, it was split at one point in time, but someone made a pretty decent repair and it seems to be holding up OK. I may get a replacement butt stock, but for now it seems to be fine.
I powder-coated the receiver for this one, and went with a dark walnut stain. I think it turned out nice. I also experimented with my laser engraver, and laser engraved a Whitetail silhouette and "Deerslayer" on the side of the receiver.
I purchased a used rifled slug barrel that was re-blued and also put a 1 point harness adapter on the tang. The receiver was missing the safety switch so I purchased a new one on Amazon. Excluding the ammo, I think I have about $250 total into the gun. Not bad at all and I'm really excited to take it out this firearm season. This shotgun weighs almost half of what my Mossberg 500 12 Gauge with rifled slug barrel weighs. I love my Mossberg slug gun, but it is extremely heavy to lug around the woods.
I took it to the range today and sighted it in for 100 yards. I'm using Hornady SST 250 grain sabot slugs, with 1800 fps muzzle velocity. It performed exactly how I wanted and had a really nice group. I only needed to adjust the horizontal on the Williams iron sight. Hopefully it'll live up to the name I gave it!

Early 1920's Stevens Model 65 .22 rifle.
This was a fun project and I think it turned out well. The model 65 was made before 1930 and you can distinguish the difference from the popular model 66 by looking at the magazine barrel band. The forward band on the model 65 is hidden under the stock. Otherwise it's the same exact gun.

M1 Garand Replacement Stock with SA EMcF Cartouch. I picked this up at a gun show last winter and have been wanting to refinish it. This would make a great replacement stock for anyone with a M1 Garand. I don't have the hand guard, but it's in good shape. There is a small superficial crack close to the muzzle that didn't crack the wood. I filled it in with epoxy. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Bernardelli P.ONE VB 9MM – Parkerization
This Bernardelli P.ONE VB 9MM was manufactured from the long standing armory in Italy named Bernardelli. The company was sold in 1997, but had been in business since the 1600’s. This particular firearm was manufactured in 1951 according to the proofing stamps that were used that year in Italy. The frame and slide was stripped, polished and parkerized. I'm really happy with the results and it performed at the range perfectly.

This FAL L1A1 Sporter is an “inch pattern” variant. It was obviously a military weapon at one point in time. I was asked to try and clean up the stock as it was soaked in gun oil for many years. After a long period of whiting, I was able to pull most of the oil out of the wood and start on a finish. We went with a satin finish, using a rub on polyurethane. We ran all the components through an ultrasonic cleaner and gave it a good deep cleaning. The owner was having some stove-piping issues at the range, and this model has a variable gas nozzle that seemed to be wide open. After some research, it was set for using a gr***de launcher, which this rifle does NOT have. Several surplus military weapons used different types of gr***de launchers, such as the M14, however this particular model has a gas setting for range when firing a gr***de. We’re excited to take this to the range with the owner and see if it performs accordingly.

The Cooey Ace 1 is a single shot, bolt action 22LR made in Canada between 1929 and 1934. This particular one is a family heirloom and was in need of some refinishing. When given the rifle, it appeared to have a gloss finish, and after learning the age of the firearm, I went with a tung oil finish. After re-bluing the barrel and cleaning all the steel.

This completely restored early 20th Century Ward’s Western Field Hercules Model 10 single shot 16 gauge shotgun was produced by Stevens (Model 94A). The gun is in perfect working order, and contains all the original parts. The butt and fore stocks have both been stripped and refinished. All steel has been stripped, cowled, sanded, polished and reblued. This shotgun would make a great addition to any collection and is ready for the field again.

This Mossberg 500 Gold Trigger edition was a steal at a gun show a few weeks ago. The shotgun was in pretty good shape, and needed some sprucing up and a good cleaning. It was a “deer combo” package and came with a rifled slug barrel and Nikon scope. I broke down the entire gun, and ran all the parts through the ultrasonic cleaner. I learned a huge lesson, and will never put a receiver into an ultrasonic cleaner again. It takes the paint right off. I ended up powder coating the receiver, and reblued the field barrel. I went with a dark walnut stain and finished it with a satin oil based polyurethane. I’m not sure I’m satisfied with how the barrel turned out, and may parkerize it at a later date. For now it looks like new and it’s ready for the range this Sunday!

This Wi******er Model 67 .22 single shot rifle was produced with the smooth bore option. They made a lot of these fi****ms and this one was most likely produced in 1934. There are some key indicators that it was made that year, mainly the chrome trigger, hand grooves in the stock and smooth bore option. I reblued the barrel and some of the other steel, and refinished the stock with a traditional linseed oil. I’m excited with how it is turning out. It required a great deal of whiting to pull out oil and dirt from the wood.
