MEET ME MONDAY: ARCHIE
It's hard to believe this three year old bowtie-wearing gentleman used to be a bard cat! 🐱✨ He found out how good life can be indoors and hasn't looked back. Archie asks for some time to warm up to people, but once he does, get ready to give him lots of pets and playtime! 🧶 Archie wants all the attention for himself, so he is best as a solo pet for a home with no young kids.

ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY: FINN AND TESSA
Finn, formerly known as Gary, was rescued as a kitten living in a chicken farm down in North Carolina 🐱🐔 From NC, Finn’s journey took him to Carmah where Tessa fell in love with him. This sweet boy can now be found basking in the love of his forever family ♥️💃🐶

An update from his mom, Tessa:
“I saw CARMAH’s post on instagram and wanted to write in to share! I adopted my cat Finn (previously known as Gary) is June 2022, and it has been the best 2 years together!! I firmly believe that Finn picked me before I picked him. I remember walking into the adoption center and Finn lit up in his little room and it was love at first sight. I brought him home that day and he’s been thriving ever since! He is the sweetest boy, and loves to talk to you about anything and everything! He loves a sleepy post-nap cuddle, where he either sits your lap or chest for a while to soak up the love. Finn also loves to annoy his brother Teddy (a 13 yr old Shih Tzu mix) after he comes in from his walk. Finn is a nothing short of a big personality, and is loved so much.

“I am so excited to share an update on my sweet kitties, Teddy and Bear. I adopted them through CARMAH back in 2018 when I was a college student and had just moved into my first apartment! They were around 1 year old at the time and had been rescued in Florida after a hurricane before finding their way to CARMAH. Now around 7 years old, they are still the same sweet boys that love lounging in the sun more than anything! They even have a dog brother and human brother that they adore. They have been with me through so many milestones in life and I am so thankful for them and for CARMAH for bringing them to me.”

FERAL FRIDAY: HELPING FERAL CATS THIS SUMMER
One simple way you can help stray and feral cats is leaving out fresh water. People frequently leave food out, but don’t always put out water. We find that in areas that lack a natural water source, like cities and suburban areas, the cats trapped in that area are often dehydrated, especially during the summer months. Dehydration has many negative health effects and is easily preventable. Now that we are in the summer season, please consider putting out water for your neighborhood ferals! ☀️

SUCCESS STORY SUNDAY: LEGOLAS AND LAURA 🐱🏹
This is the story of Legolas (formerly known as Turnpike Trixie)! Lego, as his family affectionately calls him, was rescued all the way back in 2011! Legolas is living his best life with his fur siblings and his forever family ♥️

Here’s an update from his mom, Laura:
“Hello!
I wanted to reach out with a cat update. Over 12 years ago my family adopted Turnpike Trixie from your rescue. Before we brought them home it turned out Trixie was a boy and he was given the name Legolas to fit in with our Lord of the Rings crew (and for the pun, he IS missing a leg).
After all this time he is still a Best Cat. He spent many years visiting people in need thru pet partners; always sweet, friendly and polite. He has had some chronic pancreas issues, but with regular vet visits, supportive care at home and close monitoring he has stayed bright and healthy! Now he doesn’t do regular visits, but loves his car rides and visits to work.
Here’s to many more years with this wonderful boy- he loves his dog friends (who are so gentle with him even when he plays), bird watching, cuddles, wet food, cat friends, and soft blankets (these are VERY important). He is so friendly at the vet’s office rubbing against people and purring so much that they struggle for his respiratory rate and heart rate.
Thank you all for the work you do and thank you to everyone involved with helping this lovely boy. He is always a joy to have around ❤️.
P.S. ...With his nerve damage he never became much of a jumper, but if he wants to get somewhere he finds a way. He is one of the best cats a person could ask for!”

ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY: ONION AND ERICA
Remember when we asked for your support a few weeks ago for our dear Adam? Adam needed an ultrasound to determine if he had a mass on his kidney. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise funds for him and get that ultrasound done asap. The results were thankfully negative and he was cleared for adoption by the vet. Erica decided Adam-now-Onion was the perfect match for her and brought him home!

Your support enabled Onion to find his family quickly. This sweet boy is now living his best life at his forever home. THANK YOU!!! 🧅♥️

An update from Onion's mom, Erica:
"We're best friends now. He sleeps at our feet and the last two nights has hung out with us in the living room just chilling near us. We've had tons of snuggles and he loves our catnip toys. He still likes to sleep under the bed right now but will come right out for treats and is definitely settling in and starting to feel very comfortable and content."

MEET US MONDAY: DAISY AND COMET 🌼☄️
Hi, we're Daisy and Comet and we are a bonded pair! We've been running our own marathon for months now in search of our forever home🏃 Can you help us find our finish line?

Comet is a two year old social butterfly. He loves chatting with and getting pets from people. Comet is an explorer and an adventurer who loves playing with his toys and climbing his cat tree.
Daisy is a sweet girl who gets her confidence from Comet. Paw massages and chin scritches makes her purr so loud! Daisy loves bird watching and playing with toy mice. It may take longer for her to come out of her shell, but this gal is worth it!

Rory was a stray who was rescued in Marlborough. From Day 1 she was confident, friendly, and quickly settled in at her foster's home. Rory was adopted not too long after her rescue, and she just celebrated her adoption anniversary earlier this month - Happy Gotcha Day Rory!!! ♥️

This is her story:
"My name is Caryne! I adopted Chat Ruth (now affectionately known as Aurora 'Rory' Schrödinger) in April!

Rory took to adjusting to our home together like a fish to water! She was immediately ready to explore the rest of the place upon arrival. She staked her claims around the apartment and took particular interest in the hammock by the window. She loves laser pointers and tuna, and she literally cannot stop chasing her tail. It's adorable! She's very affectionate with strangers and demands pets as entry into her home (even though she doesn't contribute to the rent). Rory is so much more than a pet. She knows when I'm sad or happy and gives me very judgmental looks when I'm being goofy. I love her dearly and I'm so glad I could spend her birthday being the familiar to her witch, and to celebrate my birthday with her as well! Rory is simply the best. Can't imagine life without her!

Thank you CarMaH for bringing this lovely ball of fiendishness and cuteness into my life! Also I made her a catstagram and I update regularly (@/schrodingerdonglecat)."

WISHING WEDNESDAY: HELP FOR ADAM 🐱✨

Carmah recently rescued Adam as a stray in Worcester. According to his caretaker, he had been living outside for at least 2 years. We assumed he was feral, but he ended up being friendly (very friendly). During his neuter surgery, the vet felt a mass on his kidney. Now we need an ultrasound to find out what it is and what his next steps are.
This sweet, friendly boy has already discovered the amazing world of laps and love from his foster. He is a master at making biscuits and is a total purring machine! He deserves the best care we can give him!

We’re trying to raise $1,000 for an ultrasound to determine the next steps for his care. Can you help? Any amount is appreciated!
