BOA Wellness
HOLISTIC HEALTH COACHING
Helping you optimize your health through small, sustainable lifestyle shifts.
Our FINAL walking group of the season is this Saturday, November 02, kicking off at 9:30am!
We’ll begin at The Hudson Area Library and:
•MEET other like-minded ladies looking to engage in health and wellness activities and instate inspiring routines this fall
•WALK together for exercise, share your experiences, gain support in living a healthy lifestyle
•SHOP the farmer’s market at 6th and Columbia! Pick up your produce, share recipe ideas, and feel prepared for the week ahead
The group will meet at The Hudson Area Library (51 N 5th Street) the first Saturday of every month and kick off at 9:30am. Together we will walk a generous loop around the city, getting to know one another, exchanging stories and gaining friendship in the community. As we circle back to our beginning point, we’ll stop by the farmer’s market where you’ll be able to pick up fresh produce, swap recipe ideas and feel inspired for your week ahead.
This group will be hosted by The Hudson Area Library in collaboration with Angelica Rogers, the founder of BOA Wellness. Angelica offers integrative health coaching services focused on healthy habit development, with a deeper specialization in movement, mindset and motivation. She guides clients on a path to improved health using a two-part process: first, assisting individuals to identify their intrinsic motivations for change, then engaging in client collaborations to develop a sustainable plan of action for moving forward.
This is a FREE community event and children are welcome to join. Registration is encouraged and appreciated. Sign up at www.boawellness.com or email [email protected].

STOP using the scale as your main metric for progress and do this instead:
😏ASSESS HOW YOU ACTUALLY FEEL
•Do you have more energy?
•Do you have less brain fog and are you thinking more clearly?
•How has your mood changed?
•Are you less irritable with the people who matter most?
🏋️♀️HAS YOUR STRENGTH AND/OR ENDURANCE IMPROVED?
•What do your workouts look like?
•Have you increased weights/resistance in your workouts since starting your journey?
•Can you walk, run, bike, dance, etc. for a longer amount of time than previously comfortable?
•Do you notice daily chores such as carrying groceries or bending while cleaning getting easier?
👗HOW DO YOUR CLOTHES FEEL?
•Do you notice your clothes fitting or looking differently?
•Do your pants feel less tight and more comfortable around your hips?
•Are you feeling more confident in that cute dress or sleeveless shirt?
✨THESE ARE ALL SIGNS OF PROGRESS
It’s difficult to see progress on ourselves, but if you answered YES to ANY of the questions above then you are on the right track! Keep going, the progress you are making will continue to compound, meaning better results - and better health!

You don’t have to eat kale all day, take cold showers and start running 5x a week. ✨THERE’S A SIMPLER WAY!✨I’ll never say you can’t have something. Instead, let's focus on incorporating more of what you might be missing and introducing fresh ideas you may not have considered until now.👯♀️Give yourself just 3 months to work with someone that can help you improve your health. WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY SELF-TALK SOUND LIKE?
How you speak to yourself matters!
Positive and negative self-talk refer to the inner dialogue or thoughts you have about yourself, your abilities, and your circumstances.
These internal narratives can significantly impact your self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.
POSITIVE SELF-TALK •
Positive self-talk promotes a balanced and realistic perspective on yourself and your circumstances. It encourages kindness, compassion, constructive problem-solving and growth as well as acknowledging both strengths and weaknesses while maintaining a sense of gratitude and appreciation for life’s blessings.
NEGATIVE SELF-TALK •
Negative self-talk breeds self-doubt and undermines confidence and self-esteem. It distorts perception, leading you to focus disproportionately on negatives while discounting positives. This pessimistic bias can skew your perception of reality and erode resilience.
While both positive and negative self-talk are normal aspects of the human experience, cultivating positive self-talk is essential for promoting balanced mental health, resilience, and well-being. By nurturing a compassionate and supportive inner dialogue, you can enhance your self-esteem, cope effectively with challenges, and cultivate a more optimistic outlook on life.

“Control what you can, let go of what you can’t, and focus on what matters.”
KEEP READING IF YOU’RE A WOMAN TRYING TO DO IT ALL ⬇️
This is a quote that comes up regularly in my coaching sessions. As women, we are trying to do it all - work, mother, socialize, garden, exercise, read, eat, clean, study, build, expand…
BUT what happens when you can’t control it all? What if you don’t have to?
I’ll use my garden as an example today. The perfectionist in me hates to admit this but she really got away from me this year.
“Omg but you love gardening! You’re the queen of eating healthy!”
As I walked through my garden beds, picking summer’s last tomatoes I realized that it’s ok! She’s wild but beautiful, and even home to many little critters finding solace in her unruliness. I was in a big season of my life while my garden was doing the same. This was the year I really dove into my business, putting my attention in other places that needed it more. I was busy and the control freak in me made a decision that I had to let her go. Simultaneously, I blossomed, she blossomed, and here we are coming together for a final hoorah as the nights turn colder. Everything turned out ok.
Thinking about this brings me back to the point of control. Sometimes things are out of our control. Don’t waste energy focusing on the negative of it, but let go and see what happens. Often it’s our perception of what COULD happen that tears us apart instead of how the events actually unfold.
Take a pause.
“Control what you can, let go of what you can’t, and focus on what matters.”
WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR JOURNEY TO SELF-IMPROVEMENT
Living optimally and feeling your best is a lifelong journey. As you begin to forge the path ahead, here are a few things you can expect:
SELF-DISCOVERY•
A wellness journey often begins with self-reflection and introspection, as we assess your current lifestyle, habits, and priorities. We’ll explore your values, aspirations, and areas for growth, gaining insight into what truly matters to you and what you hope to achieve
CHALLENGES + SETBACKS•
As you dive into the program, you’ll expand your knowledge and understanding of health and wellbeing. You’ll learn about the importance of nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and other lifestyle factors in living well. Educating yourself empowers you to make informed decisions and take proactive steps towards improving your well-being.
EDUCATION + AWARENESS•
It’s important to recognize that creating sustainable routines takes time and effort, and the path to progress isn’t always linear. You may encounter challenges, setbacks, and obstacles along the way, such as cravings, time constraints, or lapses in motivation. These experiences are natural and provide opportunities for growth and learning. We will learn to embrace setbacks as learning experiences and opportunities to refine our approach rather than viewing them as failures.
PROGRESS + SUCCESS•
We will celebrate your progress and successes, no matter how small. As you commit to your wellness journey and implement positive changes, you’ll start to notice improvements in various areas of your life. Whether it’s increased energy levels, improved mood, better sleep, or enhanced physical fitness, it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate your achievements along the way.

What role does exercise play in your life?
Regular exercise offers a multitude of benefits that positively impact physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Here are some of the key advantages:
BOOSTED MOOD AND MENTAL HEALTH •
Exercise has powerful mood-boosting effects, stimulating the release of endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine—neurotransmitters that promote feelings of happiness, relaxation, and well-being. Regular physical activity reduces symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, improving mental health and cognitive function.
ENHANCED IMMUNE FUNCTION •
Regular moderate-intensity exercise strengthens the immune system, reducing the risk of infections and chronic diseases. It enhances immune cell function and antibody response, helping the body defend against pathogens and maintain optimal health.
IMPROVED CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH •
Regular exercise strengthens the heart and improves circulation, reducing the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke. It helps lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol, promoting overall cardiovascular health.
WEIGHT MANAGEMENT •
Exercise plays a crucial role in weight management by burning calories and building lean muscle mass. It helps control body weight and fat distribution, contributing to a healthier body composition and reducing the risk of obesity-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
