Summer's over, so Cooties are getting active again! Crawl over to the scratch on September 4 at 7PM at the Hudson Post. It is time we got more lively and started working harder on our core missions, "Keep 'em smilin' in beds of white" and supporting our VFW National Home.
Please note: The Annual Cootie BBQ at the NH Veterans Home in Tilden, scheduled for this coming Sunday 7/21, is CANCELLED due to a Covid outbreak up there! We will let you know when it is rescheduled. Let's hope they all stay well.
Did you know only roughly 50% of veterans are enrolled in the VA Healthcare System?
Help support your fellow New Hampshire veterans! Operation Delta Dog rescues dogs and trains them as service companions for New Hampshire veterans experiencing PTSD and related challenges. Operation Delta Dog is a finalist for a $50,000 grant from SpotOn GPS Fencing, which will go a long way to rescue more dogs to pair with more veterans on their waiting list. But they need to show support from their community first!

Making good use of our fake check to make a donation to Liberty House. NH Pup Tent #1 Military Order of the Cootie.
The cootie picnic is coming up shortly (August). Every year we have to replace the flag. The pole used to be collapsible which made the process fairly simple. Now that our collapsible pole isn't any more we have to remove the top from the bottom section.
Probably something we shouldn't be doing this late in the day.
Tickets are available at the Hudson VFW Post or via messenger. To pay by check or cash, contact [email protected].
Drawing will be held at the Hudson VFW Post on Veterans' Day November 11th.
It's almost time to head up to the Veterans' Home for another BBQ on Sunday July 21st! Meet at the Exit 10 Market Basket at 10 AM to caravan up to the home. A good time will be had by all!
On Flag Day, members of Pup Tent #1 NH and VFW Post 5791 went to The Inn at Fairview in Hudson to hold a flag folding demonstration for the 12 veterans there. We handed out our Cootie t-shirts to the veterans. Post 5791's Auxiliary provided cookies and juice for afterwards. We'll see them again on Veterans Day!
Old Man Mountain Pup Tent #1 has been busy donating to charity and remembering fallen Cooties and their families. The Pup Tent donated $400 to Fishing for Warriors, a great program for veterans. Accepting the check for the organization is Cootie Rick Parziale, with Cootie Chuck Chapman presenting. Chuck, our Pup Tent Sky Pilot, also helped us honor Cootie and Post 5791 member John Kotheimer (4 Apr 1937-11 Nov 2023), by showing his family the newly added nameplate for John on our Pup Tent remembrance plaque.
Scratch tonight, 7 PM! We have an Atom wailing at the seams to be admitted.
From the Cootie Courier. We're action heroes!!
Another successful Cootie Blood Drive! We managed to suck 19 pints from our very willing donors. We also handed out poppies, sold some Knife Raffle Tickets, and do some recruiting for the VFW. We swapped stories with some vets and generally had a lousy time! Thanks to Chuck Chapman, Jorg Dreusicke, and Glenn Della Monica for their support of Pup Tent #1 NH.
