is honored to release the third LP from Baba Commandant and the Mandingo Band. Sonbonbela was recorded in the beginning of 2022 in the Republic of Burkina Faso. The group continue to hone their trademark fusion of Mandingue and afro-beat styles. The Mandingo Band are a hit machine, sculpting seven new tracks of near Beefheart/Magic Band dynamics, Fela inspired groovers dusted out in the Sahel zone, rather than the humidity and sweat of Lagos, creating one of the most original and propulsive musical statements to come from the contemporary West African cultural juggernaut.

After a looong hiatus since the first Half Moon Prom in 2019, we’ve got one stacked hot bill for the much anticipated, glorious return!

🌹 DJs and are gonna spin you the prom dance floor classics so you can enjoy them now, as a sexy, self-assured adult, instead of back in the day when you were an awkward shy fry.

🌹 is the Prom Queen of our dreams, the one our entire class unanimously voted for because duh, and we heard she’s gonna make quite the acceptance speech!

🌹 .malatesta and Ice Box Cake are our LIVE PROM BAND kicking off the night! It wouldn’t be prom without the guys who always win the talent show playing Paul Anka covers for their classmates!
