This week, I started my first Summer Graphic Design Camp.

We started off with the basics.
• Design Process
• Color Theory
• Elements of Art

Then we moved on to Canva 101. They learned how to navigate Canva and all about the hidden gems to create excellent works of art.

Today we all made abstract art. They had free range on pretty much almost everything. I was so happy to see their creative talent shine through.

Tomorrow they will do a magazine cover and Friday will be a swim party flyer.

Here is the abstract I did while the students worked on their projects.

I am super excited to announce that I have set up my website for both my graphic design freelance work and my resume with portfolio.

P.S. I am still trying to figure out some things. I will be updating the logos page soon so that all the logos are NOT transparent and can be seen easily when clicked. I also will need to work on SEO but this is a great start.

Next week my students are designing a magazine cover for my made up Woodcreek News mag and they get to choose the topic of their choice. I love how these two designs I did turned out. I hope the kiddos can draw inspiration from them and do their own work of art.

Postcards are so much fun and a great way to send a loved one a souvenir from your trips. Did you know you can create your very one in Canva and pay to have them printed?

Super fun to do these posters. The kiddos in my classes will have the opportunity to create their own posters for a chance to have their work printed and displayed in the school.

Next month is Autism Awareness Month. I created this posters for a teacher at WMS to display in her classroom.

Having two children on the spectrum, I have grown to be very fond of those with ASD. So many children and adults have gone their entire lives without properly being diagnosed or misdiagnosed. They're not bad people. They just see the world differently.

Book markers! Super fun activity for Canva users. Creative sparks were flying.

I teach graphic design to middle schoolers. We are doing resumes in 3 weeks. Each student must pick a movie or book character to do their resume for. As an example, I chose Spider-Man. The design was easy. The research…not so much. This is going to be worth 60% of their grade and hope they are successful!

Valentines is around the corner. Check out a few custom designs just made.

Flyer created for a family history event. Using a QR code is a great way to communicate further instructions without sacrificing space. Here I have linked the “how to” link for setting up a free account. Another useful thing to do is linking a survey or sign up sheet for an event.
