The Traffic Safety Bureau started off the weekend with a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday. They made a total of 7️⃣ DUI arrests during the saturation patrol including this individual, who was driving in Costa Mesa with a .14 BAC at about 7pm.

Last night, officers responded to reports of several events in North Division. Through their great work, officers cited and/or towed vehicles involved in the takeover. Excellent job!

We will be conducting a DUI & driver's license checkpoint on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at an undisclosed location within between the hours of 6pm-3am.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on collision statistics/DUI arrests & paid for by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

The HBPD reminds drivers that "DUI Doesn't Just Mean Booze." Prescription drugs & ma*****na can also be impairing. Some helpful reminders:

This is a reminder of what happens when individuals decide to drive under the influence and then participate in illegal street racing. These poor decisions can be very costly.

Yesterday at 3:00 a.m., police units responded to a two-vehicle rollover traffic collision northbound on Harbor Boulevard at the 405. The vehicles were blocking all northbound lanes. It was reported that the two vehicles and a third truck were racing on Harbor Boulevard before the collision. All three drivers had been drinking and were subsequently arrested for DUI. One of the drivers sustained injuries; luckily, they were not life threatening. Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue had to use the Jaws of Life to get that driver out of his vehicle before he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
