When you sign up your child for class, make sure they show up for class.

If they need to practice their moves at home, remind them until they do it.

If they don't want a hug, respect their space. Teach them to honor boundaries.

A parent's worst nightmare: Your child is being bullied.

What can you do right now to prevent it?

The first thing we teach our children before we send them off into the world is safety first.

Our #1 tip for keeping your little one safe from bullies is establishing A Trusted Adult.

A Trusted Adult is like a 'Secret Agent' -- someone your child can go to if anything happens when you're not around.

Here's how to find your little one's ""Secret Agent"":

Ask your kid if they have a Favorite Teacher, Librarian, Nurse, or other School Adult they feel safe talking to.

Talk to your child about what bullying looks like and feel likes-- so they can identify a bully.

Then, practice 'scripting' with your child, so they know what to say to their 'Secret Agent'.

If you can, get in contact with your ""Secret Agent"" and ask if they can keep an eye on your kid (to make sure they're safe.)

Whether your Secret Agent is at school, or one of our Experienced Instructors in martial arts class, you're not alone in the Battle Against Bullying, Parents! 🎒💖

Let's talk about FOCUS, Parents.

Imagine a young boy, squirming in his seat, itching to pick up his video games.

He's struggling to concentrate on his work -- and doesn't want to get started.

How do we help our kids Focus Up in a world full of distractions?

It starts with setting a routine.

Daily routines create a solid foundation for a kid's day!

Just like adults, when kids have a routine they know when to focus on their tasks.

Here's an example routine to help your child stay on track:

1. As soon as they get home, make sure they have a healthy snack.

Their brains need fuel to focus up!

2. Ask them about their day, and what homework they need to do.

This will get them thinking about their tasks. (Pro-Tip: make a list with them!)

3. Make sure they have a quiet, distraction-free zone to do their work -- and get them settled into it.

Point out the materials they grab and encourage them along the way!

4. Reward them with brain breaks + dance time to get their wiggles out every 20 minutes or so.

This makes focus time FUN and helps them stay engaged + refreshed.

Encouragement is crucial if you're starting a routine for the first time.

Your little one looks to you to remember all the steps and feel good about their tasks!

But... once your routine is set... you can let them chug along by themselves!

Whether it's martial arts practice or homework, a consistent routine can work wonders for keeping your little one ""On The Rails"". 📚🚂

It may sound a little corny, but it's true.

Every Child Has Great Potential.

It's our job as parents to help our children unlock that potential.

Whether you're teaching your little one to be more helpful at home...

Or showing them how to make good decisions...

When we talk about black belt attitude, we are teaching our students how to think, transform, and generate with the mindset of a determined overcomer, who is a "good-finder", and a leader.
