Motherly has really done their research. Check out this amazing article that they wrote about Music Together! The article covers topics such as bonding experiences, thoughtfully planned classes, the benefits that music makes on your whole brain and cognitive development, how to incorporate music into your daily lives and so much more. It is an interesting read so I thought that I would pass it along.

Walt Disney was right—it is a small world after all! Because all people share the universal language of music and movement, another of the benefits of Music Together is exposure to a rich, diverse song mix that represents many different musical styles and traditions. Our classes broaden families' horizons by inviting them to take a musical spin around the globe and to get to know cultures other than their own.

Singing and dancing with children is so much fun, it's easy to overlook how much they're learning in the process. Gaining basic music skills is one of the most obvious benefits of our early childhood music program, but there are other, less obvious benefits of music for children, too. It turns out that learning music also supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Music is fun. Music Together is magic! Did you know that your child was born musical? It's true! Your little one can learn to dance and sing just as naturally as they learn to walk and talk. Music Together helps children of all ages-from babies to 5-years-olds-discover their inner music-maker by playing with the grownups they love. (That's you!) The magic of music is inside all of us. We can help you discover it-together!

Young children learn most basic life skills from their parents and caregivers. Adults create, consciously and unconsciously, a loving and stimulating environment for learning to talk, move, think, and live with others. Through a process that seems magical, children figure out how to do these things mostly by watching, listening and experimenting on their own. We rarely give ourselves credit for achieving this incredible educational accomplishment! It's just as appropriate for you, as a parent or caregiver, to nurture your child's music development as it is to support the development of other basic skills in your child's life. Music Together is designed to help you provide this nurturing, regardless of your won music background or ability.
Our Music Together classes provide a warm, rich environment using the power of music for bonding time with your children or grandchildren. Parents, grandparents and caregivers add more cuddle, play, we, fun and bonding time to your week.
We love to help shape children’s brains as we sing and play and move with them in class. Did you know that in the first three years of life their brains develop trillions of neural connections, all determined by their experiences? When we give our children musical experiences—as we do in class and at home—their brains are developing the musical wiring and circuitry that will help enable them to be musical for the rest of their lives. The tricky thing is that their brains will drop any connections that aren’t stimulated over and over again – it’s the ‘use it or lose it’ thing! So keep making music as much as possible—in the kitchen, in the bathtub, at the park, in the car—to keep those musical pathways going!
You may have heard it said that children teach themselves through play. But play is not all about having fun. Play is the primary method young children use to learn and grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, socially, and morally. And when they play with music, they can also learn the complex skills of singing in tune and accurately expressing rhythm in their bodies. Therefore one of the best ways that you can support your child’s learning is to offer a lot of opportunities to play freely and play with you. Our classes are a great place to start! Come and learn through play and play with us!
It's as fun for you as it is for them! This could not be more true. You don't want to miss out on this fun! Come join us today! :)

Music Together's fourth principle states that the environment that best fosters young children's musical growth is playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate.
Music Together's third principal states that it's crucial that parents and caregivers participate in class and model music-making for their children in class and at home, regardless of their own musical ability. The sillier the better, just have fun with it!! Trust us your kids will love it! :)
MT second basic principle is that all children can achieve basic music competence—that is, they can learn to sing in tune and dance accurately to a beat.
In order to participate actively in music as an adult, children need years of exposure to music as a young child and opportunities to experiment with music. Eventually, they will acquire the ability to sing in tune and keep accurate rhythm. This milestone is called Basic Music Competence (or BMC). At Music Together, we believe it is every child's birthright to achieve this music development milestone. So, keep singing and playing with music with your children.
Music Together’s first philosophical point is that “all children are musical.” MT also notes that all children can achieve Basic Music Competence, which is the capacity to sing in tune and move with rhythmic accuracy. During the early years, as these capacities develop, children are in Primary Music Development stage. Neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Levitin affirms that by the age of five children have incorporated the "rules of structure" for their cultural music, which is the capacity to audiate (or "musical thinking"). He also states that when individuals aren't able to express music through singing, this is due to cultural factors, not neurological factors. Furthermore, he suggests that not being able to sing may be a kinesthetic issue due to vocal fold disruptions or mental representation of pitches. Make sure to support your child’s natural music capacities by singing and dancing at home so that they develop the ability to participate with joy and ease in the music of their culture!
Most people think being musical is a question of talent—you either have it or you don't. While that may sound reasonable, it's completely untrue! All children can learn to dance and sing just as naturally as they learn to walk and talk. With this in mind, we formulated four basic principles that guide everything we do. Follow our social this week to learn more about these principles.
The cornerstone of the Music Together® program is our Mixed-Age music class, for children from birth through age 5—and the grownups who love them! Our classes are active music-making experiences, designed to teach the way children learn: through play with the grownups they love. Gathering babies, toddlers, and preschoolers together makes each class fun for all. There are lots of group activities for kids out there, but Music Together offers a true family music class for the youngest infant to the oldest great-grandparent, and everyone in between. Imagine an extended family with a dozen or more kids and a bunch of caring adults, and you'll get the idea! Don't worry there is still time to register for our Spring Triangle Song Collection. Classes start the week of March 18th. https://linktr.ee/musictogetherrocketcity (Link in Bio)
