Are you experiencing dry, itchy or flaky skin?
The winter season can cause much distress to our skin.
Here is a little checklist to make sure that your skin has what it needs to combat the elements of the season.
•Drink water and lots of it
•Use good oils in your meal preparations such as olive, coconut or grape seed
•Use a quality sugar scrub in the shower or bath one or two times a week.
Exfoliating your dead skin will set the stage for your skin to drink up all the good moisture that you infuse into it when you apply your body butter, lotion and/ or oil after bathing but before you dry off
There are so many wonderful oils to nourish your skin such as jojoba, camellia seed, apricot, coconut, sesame, olive, almond, sunflower and so many more! A blend of oils is always beneficial
Mix oils with honey or aloe for added hydration
•Run a diffuser, it’s not a lot of water output but it helps to counteract the dehydrating effects of our home heating units which pull moisture from the air and our skin. If you have a humidifier even better
•Retinols can be very drying, avoid them this season, look at the ingredients in your moisturizer
•When you wash your face do so with love and attention.
Then add loving ingredients and massage your pores, get the oils moving and your circulation going
•Drink more water
•Smile!
