July is Disability Pride Month! โ™ฟ๏ธ This month, we celebrate the incredible diversity and strength of the disability community.

Did you know the disability pride flag has its own powerful meaning? The Disability Pride Month flag is a symbol of the community's cultural beliefs, struggles, and victories. It was designed in 2019 by writer Ann Magill, who has Cerebral Palsy, and features five diagonal stripes of different colors on a black background:

โœจ Red: Physical disabilities, such as stroke, arthritis, and spinal cord injuries
โœจ Gold: Neurodiversity, such as autism and ADHD, or cognitive and intellectual disabilities, such as brain injuries and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
โœจ White: Invisible and/or undiagnosed disabilities
โœจ Blue: Mental, emotional, and psychiatric disabilities, including mental illness and anxiety and depression
โœจ Green: Sensory disabilities, including blindness and deafness, or impaired vision
โœจ Black background: Mourns victims of violence, abuse, negligence, su***de, rebellion, illness, and eugenics against people with disabilities, and also serves as a color of rebellion and protest
โœจ Diagonal stripes: Cutting across barriers that separate the disabled from society
