A few trays getting some morning sunshine. Spring flowers going in the ground soon… I think 😂

This season is quickly coming to a close. I don’t know how much longer that I’ll have flowers available on Saturday mornings. But I’m already getting excited for next spring! The seedlings are growing nicely and I’ll be planting them out before I know it.

I’m loving these dahlias. It might be warm outside but these don’t seem to care and are blooming anyway..

This is one of the reasons I enjoy the fall (probably my favorite part). We had some babies make an appearance overnight. It’s so fun watching the mommas and babies together! 🥰🐄🐮

Hope you are enjoying a day off work and having the kiddos home from school as we say goodbye to summer.
I’ve come to realize that there seems to be to different approaches to this long weekend. Some people use this weekend to get as much done around the house and work like crazy on this extra day off. While some have picnics and go to the lake or pool. I’m curious which camp you fall into.
Let me know in the comments if you’re a let’s get stuff done type or relaxing enjoying yourself type (or are you a mixture of both).

I used to think I like the pastel colors of spring the best. But the colors of summer/ fall are so bright and bold! I’m loving it!!

I have something growing that’s not flowers… these little pumpkins are so cute and should be available soon ish if I can keep the squash bugs off of them.. time will tell..

Rain two mornings in a row!! What is happening??? My plan to pick this morning didn’t go as planned… guess it will have to wait until later when the rain is dried off the flowers. I did get a few things picked last night and they are looking good!! The poor little bee got rained on in his sleep. I thought maybe he was dead but nope! He did not like getting messed with first thing this morning.

Waking up to thunder and lightning is a wonderful way to start the day! I was planning on picking flowers this morning for the stand but that will have to wait now until this evening or Friday morning. Is it just me or is it starting to feel like fall?!

Look like it’s going to be zinnias mostly for the bouquets this weekend. The poor sunflowers aren’t doing very well right now. Crossing my fingers that the next few weeks don’t get taken out by wind or bugs.

The grasshoppers are bad every year but goodness!! I’m going to see if I can get a little help from the birds. I feel like sitting out there calling to them “here birds! here birds! Please come here and eat the bugs that are about as big as you!” Haven’t done that yet but who knows, desperate times call for desperate measures.

It’s flower stand day! There are just a few bouquets this weekend because the storm took out quite a few of the flowers.
The stand will be open from 9-2 (or sell out). $20 cash or check. It’s all self serve located at 3911 E 56th Ave.

There’s still a lot that I need to pick yet before I can make bouquets but I think I’ll have a few bouquets available tomorrow morning at the flower stand!!

I wasn’t able to go out and look at the damage from yesterday’s storm until this morning, and oh my! Because of the wind damage I’m not sure that the stand will be open or not on Saturday. 🙁 keep on the look out for updates as Saturday approaches. IF the stand is open the number of bouquets will be very limited.

There’s nothing quite like being woken up to the sound of a thunderstorm. So thankful for the rain we got during the night. Is it just me or is summer rain somehow more refreshing than a rain any other time of year
