Knitted Knockers at The Yarn Connection

Saturday November 25th is Small Business Saturday. The Yarn Connection is having a trunk show featuring Blue Savannah hand dyed yarns. Hours for the trunk show are 10:00 to 3:00. Come in and see what's new and meet Kristin Milloway of Blue Savannah Yarns. The store will be open from 10:00 to 4:00 pm.

In the Spring, we donated 110 hats, 8 sets of mittens and 7 scarves to the children in District 91. Let's beat that number.

Fall 2023 Class Schedule

Class Rules
• COVID: Face coverings are optional. If you do not feel well, please stay home and we can schedule a make-up class.
• All classes are limited to 5 students.
• All supplies for classes, if purchased at the Yarn Connection, will be discounted 20%. You must be registered and have paid for the class to receive the discount. Discount is limited to one project per class. Books and some yarns are not eligible.
• All costs will be collected at The Yarn Connection when you sign-up for the class.
• Private or Small Group Beginning Knitting Classes are also available. Fee is $80 for 10 hours of lessons per person. These lessons are scheduled with the instructor at the convenience of both student and instructor.
• All classes are first come, first served. To reserve a seat, you MUST pay for the class in advance.
• No children or nonpaying guests are allowed.
• You will receive a full refund if a class is cancelled.
• All classes will be taught by Tish Vawter

FAIR ISLE KNITTING
You will learn the fair isle technique. We will use a hat pattern from Jessica McDonald Designs. The pattern will be available for purchase either from Jessica online or from The Yarn Connection. Two colors of worsted weight yarn are required.
Skills: Knitting experience required.
Class Schedule: 2 classes:
Class 1 (3 sessions): Tuesday evenings (7 to 9): 10-10, 10-17 and 10-24.
Class 2 (3 sessions): Monday mornings (10 to 12): 11-20, 11-27 and 12-4.
Cost: $48 plus cost of pattern, yarn and other supplies.

KNITTED SOCKS OR STOCKING
Learn to knit socks or a stocking with either four double point needles or two circular needles (your choice). For those who have knit socks on two circular needles (one at a time) you may wish to learn to knit two socks at the same time on the two circular needles.
Skills: Knitting experience required.
Class Schedule: 2 classes:
Class 1 (4 sessions): Monday mornings (10 to 12): 10-23, 10-30, 11-6 and 11-13.
Class 2 (4 sessions): Tuesday evenings (7 to 9): 11-7, 11-14, 11-21 and 11-28.
Cost: $64 and cost of supplies based on project.

BEGINNING KNITTING
Come learn a new skill. Learn the basics of knitting and start a first project.
Class Schedule: 2 classes:
Class 1 (5 sessions): Wednesday afternoons (1 to 3): 10-11, 10-18, 10-25, 11-1 and 11-8.
Class 2 (5 sessions): Saturday mornings (10 to 12): 10-14, 10-21, 10-28, 11-4 and 11-11.
Cost: $80 and cost of supplies based on project.

LACE PROJECT OF YOUR CHOICE
In this class you will learn to knit a lace project of your choice such as a scarf, shawl, etc.
Skills: Knitting experience required.
Class Schedule: 2 classes:
Class 1 (4 sessions): Saturday afternoons (1 to 3): 10-14, 10-21, 10-28 and 11-4.
Class 2 (4 sessions): Saturday afternoons (1 to 3): 11-11, 11-18, 12-2 and 12-9.
Cost: $64 and cost of supplies based on project.

UFO (Unfinished Object) PROJECT OF YOUR CHOICE
In this class you can finish any project of your choice. Instruction will be provided based on your project and your individual needs.
Skills: Knitting experience required.
Class Schedule: (4 sessions): Wednesday afternoons (1 to 3): 11-15, 11-29, 12-6 and 12-13.
Cost: $48 and cost of supplies based on project.
