How your support helps families:
Decent, affordable housing dramatically changes a family's life:
•The cycle of poverty is broken
•Health, physical safety and security improve
•Educational and job prospects increase
•A sense of stability and dignity grows
•Money is freed up for other essential needs
These two co-workers did the impossible for one of our home repair clients.
Not only did they improve accessibility for Mr. M to get in/out of his home, the team surrounded this man with love by providing an accessible bedroom and bathroom.
Now, Mr. M. can move about his home with more ease. Thanks to Stephen and Beth for making this happen for our deserving client.

Our Non-Profit of the month is Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity
Do you know how Habitat is able to do what they do?
'Through volunteer support and tax-deductible donations of monetary gifts and building materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners’ low monthly mortgage payments are recycled into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.'
One way to offer support to Habitat is by shopping at their Restore. Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity ReStore
We hope you enjoy the day with your loved ones!
If you are looking for fireworks, visit our partner, Hometown Fireworks! Located at 23 Street and Lee’s Summit Rd in the HyVee parking lot! Truman Habitat receives a portion of the profits!! Be safe out there!!!
Everyone was smiling (and drying a few tears of happiness!) on Friday. Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity welcomed another Eastern Jackson couple into the family. A House Blessing was attended by Board members, donors and staff to celebrate the conversion of our partner family's lower level into a wheelchair- accessible living space, including a bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. Have to love the calming green color!🥲
