SantaCaliGon Days 2024 was a success! AMR Crews answered 53 calls for service from the festival grounds resulting in 20 patient transports to area hospitals. We also had hundreds stop by to learn about Hands-Only CPR and the Vial Of Life Program.

If you have any questions about Hands Only CPR Training or the Vial of Life Program please send us a message!

Today's the day! The annual SantaCaliGon festival kicks off today at noon. Thousands will descend on downtown Independence over the next four days. AMR Independence will have crews on site all weekend to assist those who need us. We will also have our tent up teaching folks about CPR. Stop by and say hi and learn this valuable skill!

If you are attending this weekend drink plenty of water. While the oppressive heat of the last week has subsided, it will still be warm out. Wear comfortable foot wear. And most importantly, keep an eye on those kiddos!

All of western Missouri including Independence and Southern Platte County have been placed under a Tornado Watch until 4 A.M. Tuesday morning.

A watch means conditions exist for tornados to develop while a warning means a tornado has been spotted or appears on radar.

This is a night time storm system. How will you get the warnings?

05/06/2024

There is a potential for severe weather tonight. The main threat will be strong wind gusts (over 70 mph) and a possible tornado. This will be a night time event. Have a way to get warnings that will wake you up, don't depend on outdoor sirens!
