It’s a HOT one out there today!! 🥵

Hot temperatures are here and can put stress on your A/C System!

Here are some things you can do to help on hot days like this…..

• make sure your air filters are clean
• remove any debris from around your outdoor unit
• use ceiling fans to circulate the air
• spray down your outside unit with a hose
• do not close off vents, your system needs to dispense air evenly without too much pressure
• wait until the sun goes down to run appliances like your dishwasher, oven & dryer.
• use a programmable thermostat
• keep blinds closed

Remember, systems are designed for an average temperature in our area which during the Summer is most likely high 80’s to low 90’s and systems cool to a maximum of 20 degrees below the temperature outside.

Here’s an interesting tidbit…. This is a clogged drain line. Looks kinda gross, huh? 🤢

What might be able to work its way into your HVAC’s drain line you ask? Well…..

Dust, dirt, skin cells, pet hair & other debris can enter the drain line, especially if the air filter is dirty! Condensation from the coil can also combine with dust particles to form a “mud” that clogs the drain.

These clogs can cause water to backup into the AC drain pan, which can overflow causing the system to stop cooling and may cause damage to your home.

To prevent clogs, replace your filters regularly (you can order filters on our website) and have routine maintenance done - Part of our maintenance is flushing lines.

The recipient for May is Watchmen of the Streets, a community of volunteers whose mission is to minister to the homeless encampments in the woods in Charlotte area and throughout NC, SC, other states and countries. Resources for housing, medical, addiction recovery, food, clothing and spiritual help are provided.

Aid is brought to camps, relationships formed, prayers and hope given. Physical and spiritual help is brought to people in great need. Homeless are connected with ourselves, others, other nonprofit groups and God.

What happens when your systems outdoor unit is dirty??

The effectiveness of the system is reduced - decreasing with the amount of dirt build-up! The efficiency of the system gets reduced and can increase your utility bill. Build up can also reduce the lifespan of your system because it’s having to work much harder than it should.
