The night hunt for the 2023 Midwest Silver Shootout is underway.

We have added a second gold coin to the 2023 Midwest Silver Shootout during the Morning Hunt.

1865 Mexican Empire Maximiliano Gold - .5 grams of 8K /9K depending on where you scan the coin.

2 1863 Civil War Tokens. Army~Navy with funky planchet and color and Not One Cent struck with rusty dies and a little discolored.

These will make great find during the 2023 Morning Hunt this year.

One of my favorite coins is the Flying Eagle Cents that we only minted for two years. We have sourced a few of these for this years Morning and Night Hunt. These can either be planted, surface found, or might be associated with one of the prize tokens that are planted in the ground.

One of the nice things that we put in our Morning and Night Hunts are plenty of Indian Head Pennies. We have more than 500 in this years hunts. These will be buried and also can be found as a surface find during the hunts. We will also be putting a couple in the Junior Hunt for all of our younger participants to find.

Happy Labor Day

As we head into the Midwest Silver Shootout 2022 it’s always time to recap and plan for the next event. If you are interested in assisting with planning, scheduling, entertainment, planting targets, target acquisition, and all other things than let’s have a conversation and get you to one of our meetings.

We have added a few Fork/Spoon Rings made by local Metal Detectorist Micheal Balzano. You can check them out at the event and he can make one special for you if you don’t win one of these.

Don’t forget that nobody found the token that is the hunt field for the gold coin from last years hunt. It’s still up for grabs in both the morning and night hunt until someone finds the token.
