He immediately dispatched Officer Frederick and Officer Trotter to investigate the situation further. Soon afterward, Officers Frederick and Trotter discovered an unconscious male located in an underground tunnel on the premises.

When the individual stopped breathing, Officer Frederick sprang into action and began performing CPR while Officer Trotter called 911. EMS arrived on scene, took over, and rendered medical aid. The individual regained consciousness and started breathing minutes later.

How to Protect Packages From Porch Pirates
1. Have a Visible Security Camera on Your Porch
Some thieves may think twice about sealing a package if they realize they are on a security or porch light camera. If someone is still bold enough to steal, you will have video evidence to pass along to police.
2. Leave Instructions to Conceal the Package
Many websites or delivery services allow you to add comments for the delivery driver when placing an order.
3. Use a Porch Lock Box
Consider investing in and installing a porch lock box or smart mailbox for added security with your hidden packages.
4. Follow Package Tracking
If you want to safely get your packages inside as quickly as possible, knowledge is power, so it helps to keep a close eye on the tracking details to know when you can expect the package to arrive.
5. Require a Signature for Delivery
If you are regularly home and available when deliveries are made but aren’t sure when they will be dropped off, you can require the delivery driver to get your signature to leave the item.
6. Coordinate with Neighbors
If you’re not home during the day, contact a trusted neighbor who can help watch for any deliveries.
7. Get Packages Delivered to Your Workplace
If you work outside the home, you’re likely there for more than eight hours a day, which are also prime hours for home deliveries.
8. Request Deliveries to a Pick-Up Location
Most deliveries can go directly to a central, secure location, from Amazon Lockers to P.O. Boxes to FedEx or UPS pick-up locations.
9. Tell Recipients When to Expect Deliveries
Around the holidays, many of us send gifts directly to recipients. Give your loved ones a heads-up about when to expect the package.

Meet Security Operations Manager William “Bill” Bowen. Mr. Bowen first joined our ranks in 2019 and quickly rose through the ranks with one of Marksman's highest performing data center teams located in Georgia.

Mr. Bowen has quite an impressive professional background; with more than two decades of military, retail, and law enforcement experience, it's clear that serving others has been one of his life's passions. In addition to his extensive industry knowledge, diverse skill set, and leadership skills; he is passionate about his family, faith, and witnessing his colleagues succeed at Marksman Security.

When he reflected on his career and what he loves about Marksman, he immediately stated, “Working at Marksman Security was the best professional decision I have ever made.”

Prior to entering the security industry, he honorably served in the Armed Forces, serving four years in the U.S. Army’s infantry division, stationed in Korea and Fort Stewart, Georgia. Additionally, he worked in law enforcement in the following roles - Patrol Deputy, SWAT Team Leader, DEA Task Force Officer, Fi****ms Instructor, Range Master, Criminal Investigation Division, and Acting Police Chief.

“Bill’s approach to servant leadership, and trusting his team to deliver on their strengths continues to pay dividends for our entire security program and our team members. Bill makes a concerted effort to both collaborate and learn from every leader he encounters, including our client partner's leadership team. Bill has not only continued a legacy of performance at his site, but also built upon that foundation in really exciting ways,” stated Chief Operating Officer Shezad A. Moten.

It’s no surprise Mr. Bowen was named as Marksman’s Employee of the Quarter due to his leadership, knowledge, and effort. We are fortunate he is a member of the Marksman family!

1. Holiday-Proof Your Plan
Eat close to your usual times. If your meal is served later than normal, eat a small snack at your regular mealtime and eat less when dinner is served. Invited to a party? Offer to bring a healthy dish along. If you have a sweet treat, cut back on other carbs (like potatoes and bread) during the meal. Don’t skip meals to save up for a feast. You’ll be hungry and more likely to overeat.
2. Outsmart the Buffet
When you face a spread of delicious holiday food, make healthy choices easier:
Have a small plate of the foods you like best, and then move away from the buffet table. Start with vegetables to take the edge off your appetite. Eat slowly. It takes at least 20 minutes for your brain to realize you’re full.
3. Fit in Favorites
Choose the dishes you love and can’t get any other time of year. Slow down, savor a small serving, and count it in your meal plan.
4. Keep Moving
Being active is your secret holiday weapon; it can help make up for eating more than usual and reduce stress during this most stressful time of year. Get moving with friends and family, such as walking after a holiday meal.
5. Get Your Zzz’s
Sleep loss can make it harder to manage your blood sugar, and when you’re sleep-deprived, you’ll tend to eat more and prefer high-fat, high-sugar food. Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep per night to guard against mindless eating.

- Give trick-or-treaters a flashlight to light their way.
- Add reflective tape to costumes and trick-or-treat bags.
- Wear light-colored clothing.
* Use flame-resistant costumes.
* Make sure adults know where kids are going. A parent or responsible adult should accompany young children door-to-door.

* Walk, don’t run.
* Visit homes that have a porch light on. Accept treats at the door and never go inside.
* Walk on the sidewalks, not in the street.

- Don’t cut across yards or use alleys, and don’t cross between parked cars.
- Drivers – use extra caution. The youngsters may forget to look both ways before crossing.

Update: Hurricane Idalia is expected to intensify and make landfall in on Wednesday.

Marksman Security knows that staying informed and being prepared are crucial steps to ensure your safety during a hurricane. Here are some essential preparedness tips:

1. Stay informed: Stay updated with the latest weather information and advisories from reliable sources such as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) or your local meteorological services.

2. Follow evacuation orders: If local authorities issue them, it's essential to comply immediately. Evacuate to a safe location outside the hurricane's path, such as a designated shelter or the homes of friends or family in a secure area.

3. Prepare an emergency kit: Put together a well-stocked emergency kit that includes essential items such as non-perishable food, water, medications, flashlights, batteries, a battery-powered radio, important documents, cash, and clothing. Ensure you have enough supplies for at least 72 hours.

4. Secure your property: Protect your home by boarding up windows and securing outdoor objects that could become projectiles in strong winds.

5. Have a communication plan: Establish a communication plan with your family and friends, designating a point of contact outside the affected area. Have a fully charged mobile phone and alternative means of communication, such as a battery-powered radio.

6. Prepare for power outages: Use alternative lighting sources such as flashlights and lanterns. Ensure you have extra batteries or a generator (if safe to use) to power essential equipment.

7. Safeguard important documents: Keep important documents like identification papers, insurance policies, and medical records in a waterproof and portable container.

8. Stay indoors during the storm: Once the hurricane arrives, stay indoors and away from windows. Seek shelter in an interior room, preferably on the lower level of your home, and stay away from flood-prone areas.

9. Be cautious after the storm: After the hurricane passes, be careful as hazards could exist. Be aware of downed power lines, flooded areas, and potential structural damage.

Personal safety should be your top priority during severe weather events like hurricanes.
