I gave a presentation last year about professionals collaborating more meaningfully for the benefit of the people they serve, but I’m wondering if I missed the point.
Outside of an IEP meeting or Case Management Review, are we supporting families by actually teaching them the strategies that we, as practitioners, are using? We should be treating families as essential partners and equipping them with the knowledge on strategies, not just informing them on progress.
We are committed to this practice fully by inviting families to attend our professional conference for FREE!
Tuesday, December 10th from 8:00-4:00 we invite anyone serving those with moderate-to-profound needs to join us at the center. Find registration information in our bio or website!
There has got to be more for people with disabilities and their families to find in community. How can we as a society rise up to face the challenges that our culture creates?
How can we build community that is welcoming to everyone?
How can we take collective action to make small adjustments that encourage people of all abilities to attend?
How can we demand that change occur for all groups of people still marginalized?
Two months from today is the first and only professional conference for people with moderate to profound complex needs in the state of Indiana!
Family members attend free, and professionals are welcome from all disciplines who serve people 14 and older. Find registration details on our website or in the bio above! ⬆️

Representation matters is a phrase that’s thrown around a lot, but was right in saying it’s not enough. The disabled community and their families deserve more than being a source of inspiration for others.
They deserve more than exclusion from public spaces due to inaccessibility.
They deserve to be married without losing their benefits.
They deserve to be paid the same rates as everyone else.
They deserve to be treated like adults and not infantilized.
They deserve more and our collective society have to be the ones to fight for a better world so that all are welcome in it. Join us as we fight for a better community for all.
All of these speakers and more are bringing their expertise to you in just over two months for the first and only professional conference of its kind where people with complex needs are the entire focus.

We’re thrilled to share our keynote speaker: Mindy Thomas. She is a lifelong AAC user, business-woman, wife, and mother.
The saying, “born and raised in a small town” fits Mindy perfectly! She grew up in a small town just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. After high school graduation, she did the typical college experience at Ball State University. Upon earning a Bachelor’s degree, Mindy lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, working in a few marketing jobs, and eventually meeting her husband. They were married for about two years when found out Mindy was pregnant with their daughter! At that time, they decided to move back to the Fort Wayne area to be closer to Mindy’s family.
After high school graduation, Mindy attended Ball State University earning a General Studies Major and minors in Journalism, Creative Writing and Telecommunications. As time went on, Mindy decided to take some marketing and web design classes. Finally, as of July of 2023,she earned a Digital Marketing Professional Certification through the American Marketing Association and the Digital Marketing Institute. With this certificate, she has advanced training with email marketing, digital ads and digital marketing strategies that my uses in her marketing company, Media Services Unlimited.

For the staff who work with people who have the most intense needs, life skills special educators have the fewest opportunities for professional development. With organizations like Patins being defunded, professionals serving this population now have even fewer resources to guide them on what best practices look like.
On December 10th, join us as we focus solely on this group of humans: from transition age to adulthood, because we know that their learning should never stop. This day will provide guidance and practical ideas rooted in best practices to serve so many professions who encounter these individuals.

As our medical technology improves, the population of people with complex impairments is only going to continue increasing in our world.
The state of Indiana has only a handful of teacher prep programs training people how to serve this group, and adult service providers often have no further education provided to them as teaching strategies and fields of practice progress.
So with very few resources and no continuing education, how can we expect the most complex of learners to progress in their skills? Do we as a society expect them to progress at all?
Limitless Ability is committed to furthering the education of all. We want to share how best practices can be employed for people with moderate-profound needs at any age. Stay tuned as we prepare for a big announcement!
A huge thank you to the wonderfully talented for capturing these moments of pure joy at our 3rd annual inclusive concert experience with and !

If you’re wondering what’s next for us, don’t worry; we’re already working on some more magic to share!
