It's been a min since l've popped on this app and it has been a year of change!
For starters — I finished my nanny position of 4 years (where I brought my son along with me this past August when the youngest enrolled in school full-time.
I accepted a position working virtually for a nanny agency as their Community Connection Coordinator, which basically means I'm focused on building community, as well as managing their social media and listing job ads.
And my family welcomed our newest addition in October, so I am officially a boy mom x 2
I'm mostly on the other app, but maybe I'll pop over here more. We'll see. Happy holiday
season 🦃🥧🎄

When I woke up this morning, my body was literally aching from the rush of excitement, adrenaline, and all those stairs yesterday 😅 (One of the nannies in attendance said that her rings closed. Circles? One of those fitness apps said that she completed her activity for the day because we were in a 3 level house!)

Anyways, I cannot believe how wonderful yesterday was. As always, I learn so much every year and appreciate the evaluation form feedback to continue and improve the nannies’ experiences.

We had about 50 attendees at our 3rd interNational Nanny Training Day. And I continue to bring this up, but I can’t believe that we had 11 to start with two years ago. There were a lot of familiar faces this year, but so many new ones. That was the amazing part. Our community is growing, which means we are making friends, but also the level of care is rising and conversations about industry standards and employment requirements are reaching more nannies. This is how we elevate our community.

I’m still exhausted. But I will treasure this picture forever. I’m so thankful to Nannypalooza’s guidance and support for all the individual events around the world.

Until next year ✌🏼

Remember when I said I was going to try to post here about the Indianapolis interNational Nanny Training Day event with my networking group, Circle City Nannies? Well I absolutely did not.

But, the event is in 2 days, and I want to take a moment to recognize the amazing agencies, companies, individuals, and everyone else who helped us this year.

So thank you. Thank you! THANK YOU!!

I remember being at the pool last year and seeing 4 grown ups with 1 toddler in the water. She was wearing a puddle jumper and floating in the middle of their circle and they were all just talking over her head. No working with her. No bonding with her. Just her bobbing up and down in that infamous "drowning position."

Don't be that grown up this summer ☀️

Water is SO fun! Everyone always wants to take their non-swimmers to the pool because it's SO fun. So make it magical and memorable by having your hands on your child and working with them on their skills. You don't have to actively be working on their floating if you don't know how, but have them jump to you. Reach for you. Grab dive toys on the stairs. Have them put their face in the water.

Make the memories and practice their skills. Don't just let them bob up and down by themselves. Even if you're an arms lengths away.

And that's my 2 cents of the day 🪙🪙

What an incredible 24 hours it’s been 💚 and we’re not finished 💪🏼 Nanny Relief Fund

🥹 Watching this community give back to one of the greatest humans this industry has ever known is really beautiful.

Thanks for letting us love on you, Charlotte and Sue. 💚

🙏🏼💚

💚💙 We’re really excited to launch this extra special campaign to support our dear friend, Sue Downey. She’s the very heart of the nanny community and we love her deeply.

🙏🏼 No amount is too small. Please give what you can- and if you don’t have the means to give right now, that’s ok as well. We love you and appreciate you and love isn’t measured in dollars. Love is measured in time, smiles, laughter, hugs, moments of deep understanding, and long, meaningful conversations.

We know Sue’s community has been looking for a way to give to her in this time of need- and we are honored that Charlotte has agreed to this and has entrusted us with this mission to provide both she and Sue with some financial relief amidst a really hard and scary time. 🥰🧡 Link in bio!

Truly such an honor to work with these members of the NRF Board 💚

Happy February and Happy Throwback Thursday! 💚

Last month, we had our annual in-person board meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina hosted by one of our founding members and current Treasurer,

We officially inducted our newest board members, made plans for website updates and future dispersement opportunities, started the discussion for our annual walk-a-thon (which will be taking place at the end of April/beginning of May, so keep an eye out!), and brainstormed more ways for community outreach and involvement, like the upcoming interNational Nanny Training Day events.

Even with these new ideas and updates, our mission remains the same — to provide tangible support to nannies in times of need.

If you’re wondering how to get involved or to make a donation, feel free to send us a message or visit our website at www.nannyrelieffund.org 💚
