Hi Former SpaceCamp Patrons,

I need your help! All of yours! This month I'm working on a proposal for the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Artist and Writer's Program. I hope to go along with an LA-based filmmaker (and good friend), Gary Nicholson, to McMurdo Base and the South Pole to create a video installation, a film, and various types of photographs ranging from books to large prints.

You can support our goal by saying you'll exhibit the work, show it to your students, screen the film, book us for a lecture, and/or add the book/DVD to your library.

(other types of support, even simply forwarding this message to someone who could do these things also would help!)

Flounder Lee Semi-Annual Update

Big moves for Flounder Flounder moves from US to Malaysia to UAE, continues post-colonial work and releases ebook of work. He is now ramping up art making and curatorial work in busy scene of Dubai.

Works in Progress by Simona, who has a show at SpaceCamp in Spring 2013. "July 30, 1945... on a sunny day the USS Indianapolis is sunk, and drag just 400 of its 1300 sailors. 900 men are foumd to be abandoned at sea for three days, killed slowly from thirst, hunger, cold and attacks by a pack of sharks..." November 5, 2012. The images take space, occupy part of the floor of my studio...My face is among the faces of sailors and the open mouth of a shark.
