BALENCIAGA, EL GENIAL HIJO DE LA COSTURERA
El 23 de marzo de 1972 fallecía uno de los grandes de la moda. Se llamaba Cristóbal Balenciaga Eizaguirre y había nacido en el País Vasco español, pero desde París trasformó totalmente el mundo de la moda y se convirtió en uno de los grandes maestros de la costura. Tras su genialidad y elegancia, en su vida privada Balenciaga conservó como oro en paño el secreto de su gran amor.

En Guetaria, Guipúzcoa, en el brumoso e inigualablemente bello paisaje de la costa vasca, nació en enero de 1895 el pequeño Cristóbal Balenciaga Eizaguirre, en un hogar humilde formado por un pescador y una costurera. Su padre, José Balenciaga Basurto, falleció cuando él era niño y su madre, Martina Eizaguirre Enbil, tuvo que empeñarse a fondo para sacar a sus hijos adelante, trabajando como modista para las familias y clientas importantes de la zona...
