St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center’s Preschool Program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, recognized worldwide for its innovative approach to education. “Hailed as the best pre-schools in the world by Newsweek magazine in 1991, the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education has attracted the worldwide attention of educators, researchers and just about anyone interested in early childhood education best practices. Even the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)’s revised version of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) guidelines also included examples from Reggio approach. Today, Reggio approach has been adopted in USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia and many other countries.”

Thank you to everyone who attended or sponsored our Golf Outing at Prairie View Golf Club last week! It was a perfect, sunny day spent playing golf and raising money for the students of St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center. Due to our wonderful supporters, this sold-out event had 144 golfers in attendance and raised over $39,000!!!

Every single golfer, sponsor, committee member, and volunteer helped make a difference in the lives of St. Mary’s students. We appreciate your support, and we can’t wait to see everyone back again next year!

Yesterday, we celebrated the last day of school at our annual cookout! It was the perfect way to start the summer. 🍉🌞

Using leftover flowers from Ms. Emma's wedding, our friends in Room 3 dyed fabric! They sprinkled the flowers on a piece of flower sack that had been soaked in vinegar. Then, they folded it over and hit the flowers with a hammer. All of the wonderful colors from the flowers came out and soaked into the fabric. The students loved their natural tie-dye!

St. Mary's Early Childhood Center is excited to announce our partnership with Seeds of Hope!!!

Seeds of Hope is a transitional housing facility for women who are recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. The current homes on the Seeds of Hope campus accommodate women only, not their children. Many women in need of recovery services are not able to seek them as they have nowhere for their families to go.

St. Mary's Early Childhood Center has agreed to operate the daycare/preschool at the new Marvetta & Anthony Grimes Apartments and Family Center, opening in Summer 2025. We are thrilled about our mission expansion as we prepare to provide consistent, positive outcomes for the children of Seeds of Hope.

In The Studio, our students decorated golf balls. Using an old salad spinner, they covered the golf balls in neon paints and then spun them around. The result was amazing!!
