Good Morning, Tigers & Tigerettes!!
Man, is time moving on! Halloween is Monday, Thanksgiving is less than a month away, and Christmas will be here before we know it. We all know the real meaning of Christmastime (for those who celebrate it), but for me, it IS one of the most joyous seasons of the year. "Charlie Brown Christmas" and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" come to mind, but in addition to that, December is my birth month so I'll be celebrating the 5th joyously, trust me!
We have a NCAAA General Alumni Meeting scheduled for November 12, 2016, from 11:00am-1:00pm, in the mini-auditorium at Crispus Attucks. I cannot stress ENOUGH how important it is for our Alumni of all ages to attend, in addition to those who support everything Attucks. We need Alumni to join the NCAAA, to become more involved in what is going on at Attucks, and there is a lot. We need those who support Attucks but did not attend to join the NCAAA as well, as Associate Alumni. You can join right at the meeting, $20.00 for a two-year membership. Some of you have let me know, emphatically, that you want to participate, and we welcome you with open arms. It is imperative that the younger generation of Tigers (from 1966 on down) become an integral part of the effort to keep Crispus Attucks open always, to keep it as a public school, and to support the students currently attending. I know there are a lot of Tigers out there who love this school and I am personally inviting you to come home and get those sleeves rolled up! Make that noise on behalf of the hippest school in this here town STILL, CRISPUS ATTUCKS HIGH SCHOOL. Caveat: The students LOVE to see those Alumni on the walls come to life, seriously, when you visit. You are the same as a rock star to them! You can visit anytime (unless they are closed), get a name badge and even sit in on classes. The teachers welcome you, as well. On the NCAAA website, www.indycrispusattucksalumni.com, there is an opportunity for you to engage with these kids who need us. You can become a mentor, a tutor. Check it out. We need to strongly support the interest and Attucks pride that OUR movie has generated in the community. Be a part of it.
Won't you become an active member of the NCAAA? I'd love to see you at the next meeting. I'll be sitting right up front, taking notes.
Luv Always

Black explorers we should celebrate instead of Columbus There was a time when Christopher Columbus was heavily pushed and accepted as the greatest explorer of this side of the globe. Never mind the little detail of how one could "discover" a place where people already live. But because Europeans long ago staked claim as the dominant voice, especially of…
