In case you missed it, we sent out an email today regarding an update on Indiana CollegeChoice 529 Plans. 👨‍🎓

Beginning in 2023, Indiana taxpayers are eligible for a state income tax credit of 20% of contributions to an Indiana CollegeChoice 529 account, up to $1,500 credit per year ($750 for married filing separately). This is an increase from the tax credit of $1,000 ($500 for married filing separately) that was allowed in prior years. To maximize this credit, taxpayers should contribute $7,500 to qualifying 529 accounts before December 31, 2023.

Starting September 1, 2023, federal student loans will begin accruing interest again. Loan payments will officially restart in October 2023. As part of federal relief measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals with federal student loan debt weren't required to make payments and interest charges were suspended.
