Rani Lakshmibai, commonly known as Jhansi Ki Rani, was an Indian queen and a key figure in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 against British rule. Born on November 19, 1828, in Varanasi, she was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao. After her husband’s death, she became the regent of Jhansi. When the British attempted to annex her kingdom, she led her troops into battle and became a symbol of resistance and patriotism. She died on June 18, 1858, during a fierce battle in Gwalior. Her bravery and leadership have made her a national heroine in India.

“Arrangettam” is a significant tradition in the world of Indian classical dance and music, particularly in the context of Bharatanatyam, a classical dance form originating from Tamil Nadu in southern India. The term “Arrangettam” can be broken down into “Arangu,” which means stage, and “Ettam,” which means climbing or ascending. Thus, Arrangettam represents a dancer’s or musician’s debut performance on stage, symbolizing their readiness and competence to perform before an audience.
