I was in my element at the Brown County Art Gallery's 5th Annual Indiana Printmakers Get Their Due Exhibition opening last night. The evening was so enjoyable... mixing with my tribe and sharing stories. I love you all. You've made my life a richer experience! A huge THANK YOU to gallerist Jeanne Bennett and her assistants Bernie and Kimroy and BCAG Foundation President Lyn Miller for making this evening very special. Caterer Bonafide Bites had the most delicious spread! For those that could not attend, this exhibit will be on view until August 18th. BCAG is open M-Sat. 10-5; Sunday 12-5. I will be offering a monotype print workshop on August 10th. Beginners are welcome. Register by calling BCAG.

Twenty eight Indiana Printmakers will be displaying a wide range of diverse works ranging from relief block, intaglio, screen, stencil, collagraphic, lithographic, cyanotype and montype prints. The focus is on portraiture, still-life, landscape, animal, floral, fantasy and abstract design subjects. All art is for sale. The Brown County Art Gallery, Nashville, IN is open 10-5, Monday-Saturday and 12-5 on Sundays.

Printmaking 101

Participants will create unique monotype & relief prints using a variety of techniques. Prints will be created using handheld printing tools, linoleum, diverse papers and water based inks, water miscible oil inks and acrylic paint. In addition, participants will create a group artwork. Emphasis will be on individual and group creative experimentation & discovery. Connections between painting and printmaking will be made. While this workshop is geared toward print beginners, those with some experience are also welcome to enroll. Cost is $275.
James is an experienced print artist who has taught printmaking and exhibited his award-winning art throughout Central Indiana since 2009. His specialty is seascape, landscape and floral linocut and monotype prints as well as collage. You can learn more about this artist at: www.jhubbardprints.net.
