We think our dads who work at Community Health Network are pretty great. We would like to thank Castleton United Methodist Church for the treats that made them feel extra special. We loved the popcorn donation on the North campus and the message saying, "There is no BUTTER pop than you!" Happy Father's Day!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country. Their legacy of sacrifice reminds us to cherish our freedoms and never take them for granted.
A shout out to Pots & Pans Pie Co. for delivering sweet treats to our caregivers! You brightened a lot of days with your delicious surprise!
Thank you to Castleton United Methodist Church for making our caregivers feel special again this year. The carnations were beautiful and brought a lot of smiles!
A major milestone at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital during Stroke Awareness Month. Our team has performed the 1,000th WATCHMAN™ procedure! That's 1,000 lives saved with the high tech device that significantly reduces the risk of stroke for AFib patients. Dr. Michael Robertson and Dr. Krishna Malineni brought the WATCHMAN™ procedure to CHVH in 2016. It's had great success in providing a safe alternative for AFib patients intolerant to blood thinners and allowing them to reduce stroke risk without long-term medication reliance. That's a reason to celebrate. Boston Scientific
We would like to thank all of our volunteers who give selflessly to brighten the days of our patients and caregivers. Volunteers from Community Hospital North, Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Community Hospital East, and Community Hospital South gathered recently for our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Some teams even held celebrations in our hospitals to let our volunteers know how special they are to us all!
A total solar eclipse celebration on the Community North campus was filled with Moon Pies and big smiles for many caregivers! Teams at Community Hospital North and Community Heart and Vascular Hospital were treated to goodie bags filled with Sun Chips, Moon Pies, and eclipse glasses. Several got the opportunity to come outside for a few minutes and watch history in the making.
Good luck to the Purdue University Boilermakers from the teams at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital!
Many Community practice sites will close or limit hours on Eclipse Day. Our care sites are in the path of the April 8 total solar eclipse, which we anticipate will result in significant traffic congestion, impacting access to care. Please call ahead if there are questions about appointments or hours, and allow plenty of travel time given expected traffic delays. Find information on specific locations at: https://www.ecommunity.com/news/weather-closings-notifications
Community Health Network celebrated its first patient to receive Pulsed Field Ablation, the newest treatment available for the growing problem of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a heart rhythm disorder that is the leading cause of stroke. This state-of-the-art technology treats AFib in a much safer, quicker and efficient manner.
“We were not only first in the state of Indiana but amongst the first ten hospitals in the country to utilize this technology,” said Dr. Sandeep Dube, Cardiologist and Physician Executive at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital. Congratulations team on this achievement to improve patient outcomes and deliver the best possible heart care! Community Health Network caregivers took part in the American Heart Association - Indiana Go Red for Women luncheon this week. Remember to love your heart!
This heart month, we're spreading on the word on the importance of knowing your numbers, including your coronary calcium score. For men over 40 and women over 50, this simple, non-invasive test could determine your risk of a heart attack. Even if you are in great shape, a family history of heart disease could be working against you. Dr. Jo Mahenthiran, cardiologist at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, shared with CBS 4 how a heart scan could improve or even save your life. https://archive.tveyes.com/23577/emp123/dba2a768-0516-47da-a9b0-fa022240afb2/WTTV_02-21-2024_05.36.23.mp4

Our caregivers are so creative! They turned our cafeterias into winter wonderlands and dazzled us all during the 2023 gingerbread house decorating contests. The votes have been tallied and the winners are the Neonatal Intensive Care Team (NICU) at Community Hospital North, The Ski Lodge from the Radiology team at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, and the Pharmacy team from Community Fairbanks Recovery Center. Check out the video with all of the entries.
Volunteers from the Community Hospital North Quilting Bee and Mudsock Quilters Guild are once again giving our patients a very special present. More than 230 quilters have worked throughout the year on this labor of love. They have 343 quilts to give to our patients for Christmas on the North campus. Most are being delivered Christmas Day!

Oh what joy! Mrs. Claus has come to town! 🎄 🤶 Our hearts were full of holiday cheer after this visit.
Our Project SEARCH students are almost halfway through their internship on the North campus. Recently, they held an Open House with displays featuring what they've learned so far, who has supported them, and their dreams for the future. Check out the video with photos from the event. This season and throughout the year, we are so thankful for our caregivers at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital. When we hear stories of gratitude from our patients and their families, that warms our hearts even more. We'd like to introduce you to one of our extraordinary nurses who received the DAISY Foundation award. Check out this video featuring Josh Clarke, a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
Where innovation and safety meet! When you visit any of our hospitals, you may pass through our new AI-powered weapon detectors. All you do is walk through at a normal pace, and it takes care of the rest; and it is 10x faster than traditional metal detectors. If it looks familiar, this kind of system is also used at places like Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. It's just another example of our commitment to your safety so we can focus on your care.
Thank you East 91st Street Christian Church for appreciating our caregivers and giving them sweet treats. Church members put together baskets of food and handwritten thank you letters for our teams on the North campus.
So proud of our team! Thanks to their commitment to patients and innovation, Community Health Network is the first healthcare system in Indiana to successfully implant the WATCHMAN FLX Pro device.
The WATCHMAN FLX Pro is a cutting-edge medical device designed to significantly reduce the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Atrial fibrillation is a common heart rhythm disorder that can lead to blood clots, potentially resulting in stroke. The WATCHMAN FLX Pro offers a revolutionary alternative to long-term blood thinners for NVAF patients, like Michael! Special thanks to Dr. Michael Robertson and Dr. Krishna Malineni for leading the way!
