WE MAKE BREAD. Amelia’s is a production bakery that specializes in hearth baked sourdough bread in the Italian tradition.
We bake fresh bread every morning for use in our restaurant Bluebeard and for sale in our storefronts in Fletcher Place and Windsor Park. After we bake our orders for the day we mix, divide, and then handshape each of our loaves and allow them to undergo a long, cool fermentation overnight in order to develop a depth of flavor unlike a commercially yeasted bread.

“EAT YOUR ART” Art Show is back July 5th for First Friday at ! This time we have guest artist .shoemaker popping up with us and of course, of will be creating some beautiful desserts that are paired with Marx’s art! This time Youssef will also be doing a Crepe station and will be on hand sampling and pouring wine!
Just a heads up, Amelia’s will technically be closed for the holiday BUT we will be open at this location ONLY from 5-8pm for the art show with just the mentioned items above!

We wanted to take a second to do a little spotlight on a very talented storefront member we have here at Amelia’s. Ben Bascom has accomplished something very special, he published his first book, “Feeling Singular”.
Feeling Singular reconceives the Early Republic period of the United States by presenting the forgotten and q***r stories of a series of marginal, even eccentric figures in the republican United States. Through closely reading a range of texts—from manuscripts to hastily printed books, and from phonetically spelled pamphlets to sexually explicit broadsides—Bascom uses the language of q***r studies to understand what made someone singular in the early United States and how that singularity points at the ruptures in social codes that get normalized through historical analysis.
A little about Ben:
Ben Bascom is an Assistant Professor of English at Ball State University, Indiana. He is a scholar and teacher of early and nineteenth-century American literature. He draws upon a q***r studies methodology that follows the relationship between power and desire, gender and sexuality, in American literary cultures. In 2019, he was a National Endowment for the Humanities fellow at the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, MA.
