Indianapolis Residents: Apply Now for Utility Assistance!
The Indiana Energy Assistance Program (EAP) is now accepting applications to help residents with utility bills during the 2024-25 winter season. Eligible applicants can receive financial assistance for natural gas and electric bills, as well as protection from disconnection for non-payment. Citizens Energy customers may also qualify for a 10-25% discount on gas bills and a wastewater credit.
Applications will be accepted until April 14, 2025. Make sure to gather your income documents from the last three months before applying. If you don’t qualify for EAP, the United Way’s Winter Assistance Fund (WAF) is available for Marion County residents.
Need Help? Visit in.gov/ihcda to apply for EAP, or check out uwci.org/waf for more information on the WAF program.

Indianapolis rapper Kittii Red is stirring up major controversy after claiming she was blocked from performing at this week's “Baddies Midwest Takeover” event, and she's calling on her fans to take action.
The event, which took place at LIVE event center, featured big names from the reality TV scene and drew long lines of eager attendees. However, Kittii Red shared on social media that Lil Scooty, another well-known local rapper and the manager of the venue, was responsible for preventing her from taking the stage.
In her posts, Kittii expressed her frustration, writing: “SCOOTY SAID I CAN’T PERFORM.” She didn’t hold back, continuing with, “It’s the fact I was asked to PERFORM! I’m so sick of u hating ass mfs tryna use lame ass power to stop me!!”
She even hinted that her fans should take a stand, adding, “TAP in yaw tryna protest.”
Now, her fans are left wondering if this is another case of Kittii being blackballed in the local music scene. What do you think? Is this a power move by Scooty, or is Kittii’s frustration justified? Is this more evidence of Kittii being "blackballed" in the Indianapolis music scene? Let us know whose side you’re on in the comments below!
A debate is raging after popular Indianapolis Rapper "Lil E" revealed his minimum asking price for a 20-30 minute interview was $1500. Some residents seemed outraged that a local musician would charge that much for a sit down --- while one fan said the price was a bargain because Lil E is the "Lil Baby" of Indianapolis Rap Music.
What do you think, is Lil E overcharging for interviews, or does he just know his worth? Tell us your thoughts, and if he is really is the Lil Baby of the Naptown music scene.
A brewing beef between two of the biggest hip-hop artists in Indianapolis is heating up after serious allegations were leveled against Dame Dash-signed artist Kittii Red by Playbwoi Tha Great, a fellow Indianapolis native signed to Boosie Badazz.
The feud began when Kittii Red took offense to Sexyy Red, reigniting a long-standing rivalry. Playbwoi then chimed in on the Kittii vs. Sexyy beef, suggesting that Kittii deserved any negativity coming her way. He implied it was karma for not paying him for a beat he created, which she allegedly had another producer recreate without proper credit.
Since these initial allegations from Playbwoi, Kittii has since gone LIVE on social media, refuting his claims and stating that all collaborations with him were mutually agreed upon, and that he "oversold" the beat. She then questioned why he would choose this moment to attack her, especially when she has been calling for unity from the city of Indianapolis while she takes on a much larger national artist like Sexyy Red.
As this Indianapolis Rap Civil war heats up, the city is left wondering: Will there ever be enough unity in the Indianapolis rap scene to push an artist to real super stardom? Are these beefs being orchestrated just to create buzz? What’s going to happen next? Let us know what you think!
